Florence is the closest major airport to the venue. You can get a train from Florence to the venue or rent a car.

Alternatively, you can fly to Rome airport and take the train (less than 2 hours) to Florence and transfer to Castelfiorentino from there. For our friends and family travelling from within Europe, Pisa airport is another option which is a 40 minute drive.

There are a few different options for getting to the venue:

1.) Train

You can reach the town of Castelfiorentino by train from Florence (Santa Maria Novella station). The trip takes roughly 45 minutes. You can then take a taxi from the station in Castelfiorentino to Il Grande Prato venue (flat rate 20 euros per ride) up to 3/4 people and luggage. Alternatively we will also have a car on site and can coordinate pick ups on welcome day!

2.) Rental Car

There are rental car options available in Florence, Pisa and Rome if you want more freedom. There are parking spots available at Il Grande Prato. Here are a few options to choose from but feel free to do your own research as well: Budget, Hertz, Eurocar etc.

* For our Canadian drivers: FYI you need an International Driving Permit to drive in Italy which you can get from any local CAA.

The scenery around Tuscany is beautiful, and a car is a great option (we did this August 2024 !). Just be aware there are many rolling hills, steep inclines and some smaller roads, therefore an automatic may be best if not used to driving manual. The last few minutes of the drive to the venue is a small dirt road - so keep this in mind if booking a car!
