A little over two years ago we were both convinced by friends to start an online dating profile, after just a couple weeks of having active profiles we found each other. Richie was hooked by my profile picture knowing he may have just found a girl that liked to fish and I wanted to know this handsome man with the adorable pup! After a few messages back and forth I was ecstatic when he admitted that he was "old school" and wanted to actually call me. He asked me out for our first date and we met up a week later for sushi in downtown Seattle....it was love at first swipe!

How we met

On December 10th, Richie took me out to one of our favorite day trip spots along the Hood Canal, Rocky Brook Falls. Once we reached the base of the waterfall, he dropped to his knee and asked me to spend forever with him, my heart melted and I said YES! Our dear friends Mel &amp; Trent were with us that day and able to capture the special moment. I will never forget how overwhelmingly happy I was in that moment.

The Engagement

The day after our engagement Richie and our local WA friends surprised me with a celebratory dinner at The Boat Shed and flew in two of my best friends from St. Louis (Brittany &amp; Angie). A huge thank you to Megan Payne for helping Richie pull that night off! We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends both near and far!

Surprise!

Shortly after moving over to the Kitsap peninsula from Seattle, I was driving to Kingston to meet a friend, I took a wrong turn and ended up driving north into Port Gamble. As I drove through the quaint, waterfront town I came upon St.Pauls church and immediately fell in love. The town is so peaceful and full of charm, it's a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of downtown Seattle. As you look out from the Pavilion over the water you can see a red barn on the water's edge, this is one of Richie's favorite places to take the boat and drop crab pots. So when it came time for us to choose a wedding venue, this was an easy one to agree on. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Port Gamble is across the Puget Sound from Downtown Seattle. We would recommend staying at the Clearwater Resort or somewhere nearby in Kitsap County. However you can certainly stay in downtown Seattle and take a ferry over the day of the wedding - you will just need to manage your own transportation and give yourself plenty of time. (you can walk or drive a vehicle onto the ferry).SeaTac Airport is located South of Downtown Seattle, about a 25 minute drive. From the airport you have a couple of options on how to get to the hotels/wedding venue.1.) Rental Car - You can rent a car from SeaTac and drive to hotel/venues (about a 1.5 hours drive)2.) Public Transportation Options: a.) You can take a cab or uber to the Seattle Ferry Terminal, then board the Bainbridge Ferry and take the Clearwater Resort/Casino shuttle to the hotel. Then follow steps 4-6 below.ORb.) You can take the Link Light Rail from the airport to downtown Seattle, then board the Bainbridge Ferry and take the Clearwater Resort/Casino shuttle to the hotel.1.) The Light Rail departs from the SeaTac airport every 6 minutes (approx. $3.00/person)2.) Exit the Light Rail at the Pioneer Square Station Exit.3.) You will need to walk/cab/uber 4-5 blocks to get to the Coleman Dock Ferry Terminal. From the Pioneer Square Exit (on foot) you will follow 3rd street (heading north), crossing Cherry, Columbia and turn left toward the water (west) on Marion. Follow Marion 3 blocks to the Ferry Terminal. 4.) Upon entering the passenger ferry terminal, you will need to purchase a ticket for the Bainbridge Ferry (approx. $8.20/person). This will be a 30 minute ferry ride. The shuttles run consistently throughout the day.6.) Upon arrival to the hotel, request a "Players Club Card" to receive additional discounts.

Airport to Hotel Accommodations

You will need to arrange your own transportation from this location to/from the wedding venue/reception. Or you can arrive at the Clearwater Resort to board the private charter bus.

The Point Casino & Hotel

We have arranged for a private charter bus to pick up from Clearwater Hotel to transport all guests to the wedding/reception venue and return to the Clearwater Hotel at the end of the evening. If you are staying at another location, you will need to arrange your own form of transporation to and from the wedding/reception venue.

Another option would be to rent an Airbnb in the area. Anything located in Port Gamble, Bainbridge, Kingston, Poulsbo or Port Ludlow would be about a 15-20 minute drive to the wedding venue. If you choose this as an option, you will need to arrange your own transportation to/from the venue.

This Hotel can be a more affordable option, located in Silverdale it's a little further south of the wedding venue (about a 40 minute drive) but offers a beautiful view of the water and lots of nearby restaurants and shopping. You will need to arrange your own transportation.

The Port Ludlow Inn is a 37 room boutique, waterfront inn inspired by New England's classic coastal summer homes. This hotel does offer a free shuttle service and if arranged in advance they should be able to accomodate guests requests for a ride to Port Gamble.
