In 8th grade in 2005, Amy first set her eyes on Gio. She was very shy but intrigued by him and had to know more. She reached out through myspace.com (the popular social media outlet at that time) and Gio had no idea who she was. Regardless, he told her to meet him in the hallway the next morning before school to say hi. That morning, they finally formally met, and the rest was history. Two months later, on November 2, 2005, Gio finally asked Amy to be his girlfriend, and she said yes! Little did they know where this teenage love would lead...

How We Met

For their 10th anniversary, November 2, 2015, Amy &amp; Gio planned a trip to Breckenridge, CO. On the day of their anniversary, they embarked on a major snowy hike to Mohawk Lake. About 3 hours into the hike, they finally made it to 12,000 ft. There was a beautiful frozen waterfall beside them, with an indescribable view of the mountains. They hugged each other tight and took in the view for a few moments. It felt as if they had traveled through time, a decade into the future. Just as if the moment couldn't get any more perfect, Gio got down on one knee &amp; Amy said YES!! Gio shoved the ring onto Amy's swollen freezing finger, they kissed, took in the moment &amp; then realized they were losing sunlight. At that exact moment, the wind picked up and snow was being flung in their faces. They were 3 hours into this hike, so they went as fast as possible back the way they came. After about 20 minutes, they realized they had lost the trail. There was no time to retrace their steps because it was getting dark, so they kept going until they found an icey dirt road. Not knowing where it led, they ran down the road slipping on their butts every few minutes on the slick ice laughing at each other. After running for what felt like forever, the road intersected with another trail that they were able to follow back to their car. The entire experience was so exhilarating, and they wouldn't change it for the world. This day was the best day of their lives, and they will cherish it forever.
