Our Wedding

Bia and Shawn met in a modern traditional way, on an online dating app. Who knew that they would be so lucky… They followed each other on Instagram. With the pandemic in full swing, it was a little more difficult to meet up in person. They messaged back and forth, and off and on, commenting on each other’s stories, for over a year before finally meeting up! It was 2021, on a Wednesday in Durham, at a bar called Surf Club. They will never forget. On the first date, right then and there, Bia and Shawn felt an immediate connection. They talked for hours about things they wanted to do, places they had been. The conversation and excitement were just so natural that they wanted it to continue, so they set a date for the following day! They went to a concert at Red Hat Amphitheater, and right away, Shawn showed Bia his amazing dance moves that he’d perfected on Glenwood South. While Bia can still remember how it felt, she thought that it was so crazy they had such a connection so quickly. Shawn, on the other hand, promptly saved Bia’s phone number as “Ana Beatriz Brazilian Bombshell.” (fun fact, that's still her name on his phone). After that, they kept going on dates almost every week. Since Bia was new to the area, Shawn would take her all around Raleigh, to the coolest places, and they kept realizing how they had so much in common. After a few months of dating, meeting each other’s friends, and going on trips together, they started to officially date. Fast forward a little bit, after spending some time talking about their future and building a family together, Shawn planned a trip for them (the thing he knows best) and surprised Bia at a beautiful garden in Wilmington, NC. After getting legally married at the beginning of this year, they decided they wanted to share their happiness and celebrate with all their friends and family. We can't wait to see you on September 27th!

The ceremony will begin at 3:00 PM. We kindly ask that you arrive by 2:30 PM to ensure a smooth and timely start. 4:00 PM – Cocktail Hour Mix, mingle, and sip on something delightful while we snap a few photos. 5:30 PM – Dinner A delicious meal awaits—bring your appetite and your warm wishes. 7:30 PM – Reception Let’s dance the night away! There’ll be music, laughter, and memories to be made. We respectfully ask that all guests depart the property by&nbsp;﻿11:00 PM.
