The story began in May 2022, when I had just left Ottawa to study in person at the University of Waterloo. I was eager to meet new people, and I met Ana one week after I arrived at St Michael's parish. Later that week, I "coincidently" saw Ana 3 times in one day all in different places. One in the library on campus, another in the swimming pool and a third at a friend's bonfire that we were both invited to. Ana only saw me at the bonfire. After this day we would see each other in the St Michael student center, at mass or in the library while studying.
It wasn't until the end of October 2022 when I knew I had to ask Ana on a date. I was living and working a co-op job in Toronto at the time so I went to Waterloo and we spent the day together. For our first date, we talked a lot in a coffee shop, went walking through town and tried to eat food through the nerves I was experiencing. If I had waited until December I would have missed the opportunity to take Ana on a date. This I did not learn until later!
Since that day Ana and I have been growing closer and closer to each other. On July 27th 2024 at Martyr's Shrine in Midland Ontario after a beautiful day learning about some of Canada's greatest martyr's we went out in the field near some farm animals under a tree and I asked Ana to marry me. I could not be more excited and happy to be married to Ana. Things always seem to go better when we are together.
Our story begins one Tuesday evening after mass when a handsome young man introduced himself to me. Later that week, he tells me he has seen me 3 different places in one day! What Godincidence! So the next time I went to the library, I looked for him and when I found him, I sat beside him with my heart pounding in my chest. He said hello and that was it. Then, I started going to mass more consistently on Tuesdays and to the library to see him. We didn't talk; we studied. Even though I knew he wasn't that interested in me I did not give up. I waited very patiently for him to ask me out. After thinking he wasn't going to, he finally did, and I of course said yes! Then, when he asked me to be his girlfriend 2 months later, I almost said no! I blame my nerves! But when he proposed to me, I was smiling ear to ear and felt so happy with much peace and joy!
Dating Cameron has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. I am very blessed to be loved by him and to see God's hand over our relationship, guiding us, teaching us to love and be loved these past 3 years. I think we are a match made in heaven, literally :)
