Ana and Galen first encountered one another in a Human Rights tutorial in first year. Galen swears he thought Ana was cute from the beginning, but she had an angry face and that made him think she wasn't very nice. They both hated this class, and tutorial, so they didn't interact with each other, or anyone else for that matter.

Fast forward to second year and one of Ana's friends really liked Galen. Ever the enigma, Galen was very elusive. At a show by BoxFull of Groundhogs- a band full of our classmates - in one of the most hipster bars in possibly the world (the Rainbow Bistro)Ana grabbed Galen by the hand, dragged him over to a table and told him to be nice. That was when Galen first felt he might be interested in Ana.

As fate would have it, in third year the two moved in to houses around the corner from each other, in a largely suburban, non-student neighbourhood in Ottawa. Their friend groups started to mingle. Then, at a Halloween party in 2012 (where Galen was dressed as a wrestler and Ana was dressed as the talented Dooneese ,aka Baby Hands, from SNL), an intoxicated Galen told Ana he was "into her."

The next day, the two went on their first date - a walk through the neighbourhood.

For the seven years since, Ana and Galen have grown up together. They graduated, moved to Toronto and now live in the east end of the city together. To them, their wedding is an opportunity to celebrate the last seven years together and the many more to come.
