AnaMaria and Sal’s story began on October 22, 2023, when they connected on a Christian dating app. From the very first conversation, it was clear that there was something special between them. Both were looking for something serious, with marriage in mind from the start, and neither of them wanted to waste the other’s time. Despite the distance, the two were committed to getting to know each other deeply, and their connection grew stronger every day. In those early weeks, they spent hours FaceTiming each other, finding joy in the simple moments of sharing their lives, dreams, and faith. What started as casual chats quickly became the highlight of their days. It was evident that they had found something real, something worth pursuing. After just three weeks of daily conversations, they felt the pull to meet in person. Sal, with his adventurous spirit and deep desire to make this relationship work, booked a flight on November 6, 2023, to meet AnaMaria in person. However, life’s circumstances weren’t always smooth. After a promising start, they both faced challenges that made it necessary to pause their communication for two months. It was a tough decision, but they both trusted God’s timing and knew that, if it was meant to be, it would be. By God’s grace, in late January 2024, they started talking again, and despite the pause, their connection hadn’t weakened. It had only grown stronger, and the plan to meet in person remained a priority. February 16, 2024, marked a monumental day in their journey: they finally met face-to-face in Denver, Colorado. The moment they saw each other, the distance between them seemed to vanish. The first in-person meeting was everything they had hoped for and more—a confirmation that this was the real deal. From that point forward, Sal made it a point to visit AnaMaria regularly. Over the next four months, he flew out to Denver three more times, each visit deepening their bond. On August 24, 2024, Sal knew it was the right time. In a quiet, heartfelt moment in Denver, he asked AnaMaria to be his girlfriend. It was a milestone, not just in their relationship, but in their shared faith and commitment to each other. Just a few weeks later, AnaMaria traveled to California for the first time to visit Sal, excited to see where their future could take them. A year, two weeks, and five days after their first meeting online, Sal took another huge step in their relationship. On November 9, 2024, he proposed to AnaMaria, asking her to be his forever. The proposal was a beautiful culmination of their journey—one that started with a simple online connection and grew through patience, faith, and determination. Now, as they look ahead, they know that the journey God began on that October day in 2023 is just the beginning of their forever. Their love story is a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and God’s perfect timing, and they are excited for all that lies ahead.

Visitors may look through telescopes, explore exhibits, see live shows in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium, and enjoy spectacular views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign. 2) Old town Monrovia Cost: Varies Location: Monrovia, CA Distance from Duarte: 3miles Description: This unique downtown environment blends charm and classic American themes with modern day conveniences. Historic buildings fill Old Town’s streets, where you can find an array of boutique shops selling everything from baseball cards to vintage concert t-shirts, and beautiful home furnishings, a diverse selection of restaurant and cafes, entertainment, and luxury living. Residents and visitors alike head to Old Town regularly for its inviting atmosphere. It is free to walk around downtown and one of the best Cafe’s is called Cafe de Olla. Great food and delicious coffee of all kinds. 3) Arcadia Community Regional Park Cost: Free Location: Arcadia, CA Distance from Duarte: 5miles Description: The city of Arcadia. It is the perfect place for adults to sit and converse while children can play in the various playgrounds, ride their bikes or simply run around. The park has many picnic areas and is ideal for family celebrations, picnics and special events. One of the nicest parks to take a nice stroll around. Good food nearby as well. 4) Grace Community Church Cost: Free Location: Sun Valley, CA Distance from Duarte: 31miles (35mim-1hr travel time) Description: For those who would like to attend service on Sunday and visit the church where John MacArthur pastors. 5) Santa Anita Mall Cost: Varies Location: Arcadia, CA Distance from Duarte: 8miles Description: Closest shopping mall that is very big and good for walking around, eating food, or buying items
