OKCFD 21-2
Andie donned her best Hillary power suit complete with bow tie for the first day of OKCFD’s academy. She was the only female in the class of 64 and she caught the attention of a Paul Carpenter when she was sent to sit by him. Paul will say that she was displeased, but she quickly learned how resourceful he is and commenced picking his brain about fire musters for the fire museum. Their next significant encounter was during after-hours RPAT practice. Paul was impressed by Andie’s tenacity; Andie was disconcerted by Paul’s statement to LT Summers to “just go faster” when pressed as to his impressive time on the keiser sled. The two became friends and Paul attempted thrice to get Andie’s number. Each time, she unknowingly thwarted his advances by saying “message me off the group chat’ or the like. After Iudicium, Paul decided the time was ripe to add Andie on Snapchat and sent the below reply to a lifting video. It is unknown what Andie said in reply, probably “if you’re different, you’re wrong”.
Baby It’s Cold Outside

A few weeks after rookie school ended, Paul invited Andie out to Stroud, Oklahoma for an unassuming coyote hunt. Andie was very excited to do something so ‘Oklahoman’ and wore her very best beer drinking shirt with flannel. Paul wore the same thing. Paul took Andie to the cabin for target practice then to his favorite brushpile. Andie did not get the ‘be quiet’ memo and asked question after question. The only coyotes they saw snuck up behind them. A very random cold front swept in, hurrying the pair back to the cabin. Paul began cooking chicken parmesan and turned on some country music. He warned Andie, “If I flip you, you’re gonna fall in love with me”. Sure enough, she got snowed in and here she is writing this goofy love story <3
Fast Forward ❤️
In our almost three years together we have shared many laughs and stayed quite busy. We have remodeled a home, backpacked in Western Europe, won Best Beer Drinking Team at Bartlesville Oktoberfest, and become ~sleepy~ Corporal-Paramedics. We have deservingly earned a reputation for being party people (reference: OSFA Convention 2022) - a benefit to those who also like to party and will be attending the reception 😉 Paul has learned how to braise and perfected bread making; Andie enjoys being his guinea pig and supplying home and station with baked goods. Paul continues to terrorize the local coyote community. Andie competed in a powerlifting meet again this winter and plans to maybe do some more. Paul is happy to be involved.
