Because Mackinac Island is car-free, most people get around on foot, bicycle, or horse-drawn taxi. The whole island only covers 3.8 square miles, and many of the most popular restaurants and attractions are in close proximity right downtown.

Shepler's Ferry services run from both St. Ignace and Mackinac City. You can buy your ticket on the day at the dock or ahead of time online. Parking is offered. Make sure you're aware of the last departing ferry and check the schedule ahead of time.
