Who would have thought that countless swipes and endless hours of reading random profiles on an online dating app would lead to something so extraordinary? Yet in July of 2023, all those clicks and scrolls brought Andre and Candace together, sparking a love story that continues to blossom today.

From the very beginning, their conversations were filled with laughter, faith, and deep discussions about ministry and the goodness of God. They spent hours chatting, eventually making plans to meet in person. Their first meeting took place at Candace’s church during a conference—a perfect setting for two hearts rooted in faith.

Though they had promised each other an ice cream date, life had other plans, and that treat wouldn’t happen until nearly a year later. In the meantime, they chose to take a walk around the park, sharing more about their lives and dreams. From that day on, dinners, movie nights, hand-holding, and long conversations deepened their bond.

By October 2023, after many heartfelt talks, Andre and Candace decided to make their relationship official. The holidays that followed were filled with joy and new traditions, including the sweet moment when Andre introduced Candace to his brother. As the year turned to 2024, nerves and excitement grew as Candace brought Andre home to meet her parents.

That spring, Andre and Candace embarked on their very first trip together. Candace surprised Andre with tickets to see his beloved Chicago Bulls play in Brooklyn for his birthday. A few months later, they celebrated Candace’s birthday in grand style with thoughtful gifts and an unforgettable Broadway performance of The Lion King at the Landmark Theatre.

As 2024 came to a close and 2025 began, Andre and Candace set meaningful goals and had heartfelt talks about what lay ahead. Their bond only grew stronger as they shared new adventures, both fun and spiritual, leaving no doubt that “forever” was the plan.

In March 2025, Candace planned a surprise road trip for Andre’s 39th birthday, with stops in North Carolina and Atlanta. The trip was a hit, and later that summer, they celebrated Candace’s birthday with another adventure. This one was especially meaningful—it was the first time Candace met Andre’s cousin Amanda and family, and it gave Andre a chance to show Candace where his roots began.

There were a few bumps along the way—including the infamous “broken zipper” mishap—but finally, everything fell into place.

With his heart overflowing, Andre shared his love, dropped to one knee, and asked the question that would seal their future: “Will you marry me?”

Candace, caught completely by surprise, was filled with joy, laughter, and happiness as she exclaimed, “Yes!”
