Our Wedding

Like most modern couples, we met on a dating app, not really having high expectations of finding what we were looking for. Corey initiated contact by “liking” one of Andrea’s photos. Being a rare breed, Corey had actually read all of Andrea’s profile and was intrigued by the fact that she mentioned her dog, her love of trivia and travel, and her amazing wit (Andrea may be speaking for Corey but he would of course agree). Corey asked what kind of dog Andrea had, and was shocked to find it was the same as his. This would be just the first of many crazy things we would discover we had in common. After more conversation and of course looking into each other online to make sure neither was a serial killer, we had our first date on April 29, 2023 at Andrea’s favorite local Mexican restaurant. We hit it off instantly and here we are!

Since that eventful first date, we wasted no time and seamlessly blended into each other’s lives. We hit the jackpot with in-laws and our family and friends all get along great! We have traveled to Nashville, Dallas, Las Vegas, Miami, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, Chicago, Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, and plan to travel to many more places. We have been to a Packers game, four NHL games along with Iowa Wild as well as some baseball games. We share a love of NFL football and watch as many games as possible. We are in a fantasy football league together (but competing against each other!) We love trivia and often take quizzes on YouTube just for fun. Our favorite thing to do is anything that involves our dogs- Nacho and Mable could not have been more perfect for each other and are truly brother and sister. We love doing life together and can’t wait to make every second count!

We have a limited number of standard King and Double rooms available at the Hilton Downtown DSM at a negotiated rate of $144 (plus tax) per room. These are available on a first come, first serve basis and must all be booked prior to 3/1/26 to secure the rate. *We do have the ability to add more rooms to the block, so if you’re not seeing availability please reach out to Andrea! The hotel is just a block away from the venue and close to lots of great dining and entertainment options! If you need information for other options, just let us know!

There's lots of great places to eat, shop, and have fun in and around Des Moines. Here are just a few of our favorites that should be good for this time of year. Go to Paws and Pints and check out the indoor/outdoor dog parks, all while eating and drinking on the heated outdoor patio or inside the restaurant. We love the East Village! Be sure to check out Ray Gun for some really fun t-shirts and accessories. Grab a drink with a view at The Republic, or head to the Tap Room for all Iowa-based beers and great food. Make sure to stop next door at Molly's Cupcakes for a treat. Like old school arcade games? Head to Up/Down and also grab a great slice of pizza while you are there. Want some really unique pizza? Fong's is where it's at.
