In a tiny town nestled in the Finger Lakes of New York, there lived a little girl named Dréa who saw the world as a magical place full of wonder. Life was marvelous. Miles away near a very large lake lived a young boy named James who was full of curiosity. The little girl and the little boy eventually grew up and followed their dreams of education and travel, yet the two never met.

Life is always a series of random events that happen when they are meant to. Dréa grew up, and found a wonderful career in workforce development, building a great life for herself. James became a science teacher and developed a love of baseball and music. Yet, something was missing.

Then one day, Dréa came across a profile for James and decided to take a chance. They met at Noble Shepherd Brewery for their first date, sharing a beer and a hike. Suddenly, they both knew this was different, this was special. They planned their second date for two days later.

Life is full of synergies. When they met, Dréa was living in Canandaigua and James was already planning to move there. James wanted to adopt a dog and was concerned it might drive Dréa away. Instead, it made one of her dreams of owning a dog come true. James, who had always dreamed of attending an opening day game at the LA Dodgers Stadium, realized this dream with Dréa by his side.

Things fall into place when they are meant to. After 2 years of dating, James decided he was ready to pop the question. Wisely, he included Dréa’s sisters in the ring selection and planned the surprise. Returning to the site of their first date at Noble Shepherd, James presented the ring and proposed, even wearing the same shirt from their first date!
