A Michigan Love Story

January 2020And so it begins. Dylan and Andrea meet through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at The University of Michigan - Flint!

March 2020Officially dating! After beating around the bush for nearly two months, the two soon learn that they love each other more than they chose to admit!

June 2020First Date and Covid Hits!The excitement of finding love is met by the surprise of the Coronavirus Pandemic. This did not influence the magical atmosphere at the couple's first date!

Plenty of dates were enjoyed through college!

December 2020Dylan discovers Andrea's love for her favorite holiday - Christmas. The couple spend their first Christmas together!

May 2021Andrea moves to Flint!

September 2021UM-Flint Homecoming is a wonderful occasion!

November 2021UM-Flint Diwali Night! Dylan enjoys performing music and Andrea loves to dress up in traditional Indian attire. Andrea sports a beautiful saree in this picture!

Plenty of friends were made through college!

November 2022UM-Flint Diwali night with Dylan’s sister, Amanda. The dance floor was hot this night!

Andrea and Dylan grow to love at-home dates over the years!

July 2023During a service at the couple's church in Flint, Every Nation Church, they learn about an organization called "Compassion", which helps underprivileged children find sponsors from around the world and nurtures their relationship with God. Together, Dylan and Andrea start sponsoring a sweet young lady named Jitu who lives in Ethiopia. They stay in touch with Jitu to this day and communicate with her through letters.Thank you, Every Nation Church and Compassion!

Halloween 2023Mickey and Minnie! When Dylan started dating Andrea, it did not take long for him to realize Andrea's heart for children which complemented her dream to become a kindergarten teacher. The couple enjoy bringing smiles and laughs to children, especially during Halloween!

November 2023Family Photos! Red is Dylan's favorite color and Andrea looks gorgeous in it!

December 2023The young couple graduate college together! Dylan earns his degree in Computer Science and begins his tenure as a software developer. Andrea earns her degree in Elementary Education and achieves her dream job as a kindergarten teacher.

February 2024Special occasions are highly valued. The couple spend their fourth Valentine’s Day together. Dylan set up a surprise McDonald's candlelight dinner for Andrea. During their busy college life, the two bonded over specific activities and one such activity was enjoying conversations at a McDonald's drive-thru!

July 21, 2024Dylan asks Andrea to marry him at the Windmill Island Gardens in Holland, Michigan! An occasion that was 4 years, 4 months, and 4 days in the making!

Our Story

The Engagement

On the 21st of July, 2024, Dylan asked Andrea to be his wife at the Windmill Island Gardens in Holland, MI. During the summer of 2023, Andrea visited the Netherlands during a college study abroad trip. The stunning country, culture, and sceneries won her heart over so Dylan wanted to honor her favorite travel destination during his proposal. The Windmill Island Gardens is renown for housing "De Zwaan", the only authentic Dutch windmill in the United States. As Dylan stepped back onto one knee in front of the windmill, the couple knew that this day would be fondly remembered for the rest of their lives.

Andrea thought the rose ring box was funny. Dylan thought it was indisputably genius.
