Daniel and Andrea first met long before they started dating, and had no idea what the future would hold! The couple both attended the University of Minnesota and were involved with the Christian organization Cru on campus. Daniel graduated two years before Andrea, and she remembers seeing him at a Cru event her freshman year and thought he was sooooo cute. A couple years later, they both attended a summer bible study where Daniel remembers seeing Andrea and also thought she was sooooo cute, but neither ever made a move.

Daniel and Andrea officially met and went on their fist date in the spring of 2020. They hit it off right away and connected on faith, family, fitness, and so much more. Best first date ever! Both quickly had the feeling they had met "the one"!

Both Daniel and Andrea had big dreams and career goals when they started dating, with Daniel attending medical school at Rocky Vista in Denver and Andrea starting her job designing clothing for Kohls in Milwaukee. The couple only dated in Minnesota for a few months before moving across the country from one another. They were so sad, but both knew that God had placed them in each other's lives for a reason and that long distance would be worth it. Over the next three years, they faced the challenge of distance as well as the pandemic, busy schedules, and more, but continued to trust in the Lord and encourage and love one another. They both feel that their relationship has been so blessed by their faith, family and friends who have supported them, and by one another's commitment to the other's success. They continued to fall more in love with one another every day, and were able to have so many fun and unforgettable adventures when visiting Denver, Milwaukee, and back home in the Twin Cities!

Daniel and Andrea usually only saw each other once a month, and after they looked at rings, Andrea knew the engagement would be coming soon. But neither knew quite how soon! Daniel asked Andrea's parents for her hand in marriage and after they said YES!, he began to plan the proposal. Daniel originally planned to pop the question in Milwaukee when he visited Andrea in the early spring, and was working on getting family and friends to come into town to join in on the surprise. In the meantime, it was time for Andrea to come visit him in Denver and Daniel worked on planning the activities they would do, one of them being to hike Deer Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park. Little did he know, that is the exact mountain where Andrea's parents had gotten engaged!! When Andrea told him that, Daniel decided that is was too perfect to not pull off the best surprise of all time, for both Andrea and all of their family & friends. It was the most beautiful and sunny winter day as the couple hiked to the top of Deer Mountain, not a soul in sight (except for a few deer lol). They reached the peak and Andrea was enjoying looking out at the views, but it was so windy she didn't even realize Daniel was down on one knee behind her. When she finally turned around, Daniel asked her to marry him and the rest was history. Easiest yes of all time! They both loved being able to surprise all of their family and friends with their wonderful news, and enjoyed celebrating with their loved ones on the originally planned engagement date the following month.

Daniel and Andrea are so excited to start their life together and celebrate with all of their loved ones at their dream wedding in May. They also can't wait to move to the same state after Daniel graduates from medical school in May as well, and begins his OBGYN residency program. The couple is hoping to settle down in Milwaukee where Andrea will continue designing for Kohls, but are looking forward to whatever adventures the Lord brings them as the future Mr. and Mrs. Kuivinen!
