For anyone who thought that it wasn't humanly possible for someone from the South Shore and someone from the North Shore to fall in love, please read on.
It was August 18, 2018, and it turned out to be a beautiful day for more than one reason. Christopher and Andrea were set to meet at the River Bar at Assembly Row. Rumor has it that Andrea almost didn't want to go but her sister Leanne highly suggested that she go. Leanne absolutely deserves a gold star.
Being the blubber of nerves he is, "It's nice to see you" were the first words Christopher ever uttered to Andrea. It was their first date and had never met before. However, in retrospect those words seem fitting, based on all the things they connected on.
After a first date filled with lots of laughs and drinks, both Andrea and Christopher left the date feeling that there may be something special about one another. Andrea loves to tell that she knew this guy was special because he didn't think that marching band was lame! Outside of being gorgeous and very intelligent, Christopher knew there was something special about Andrea when she stated that she too loved to eat ice cream while watching The Biggest Loser. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Fast forward a few weeks to the beginning of September and you'll find Andrea and Christopher having their third date at Bricco. That's right folks, even after finding out that Christopher was a South Shore kid through and through, Andrea still texted him back after the first date- proof that miracles do happen!
They still talk about that third date because it was an amazing night spent together with good food, even better company, and a walk along the waterfront. Andrea and Christopher sat by the water outside of the North End and talked for hours on end. The special night ended with their first kiss- foot pop included!
When it was time for them meet each other's family, they fit right in! Andrea and Christopher both come from large families, so the volume and pure chaos of walking into a room filled with siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles made them feel at home. They both love their families and will continue to keep family at the center of their lives.
Andrea and Christopher both love to travel and have been able to visit some amazing places together. It started with visiting Newport, RI during their first Christmas season together. Newport continues to remain one of their favorite places to visit. The Newport trip was followed by getaways to Montreal, Martha's Vineyard, Philadelphia, Vermont, and beyond. Each vacation comes with a boatload of great stories and wonderful memories, and if you know Andrea- a picture book under the coffee table!
In 2019, Christopher officially made the jump from the South Shore to the North Shore. He moved into Andrea's condo like the bull in a china shop he usually is (she still manages to love him anyways). Andrea and Christopher began building their life together on the North Shore, and look forward to continuing to build their life together there.
On May 30th, 2020 Christopher proposed to Andrea at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, MA. Over their relationship, Lake Quannapowitt became one of Andrea and Christopher's favorite spots to walk. Christopher is historically bad at surprises (he can't contain his excitement!) but managed to keep this one until he got down on one knee to ask Andrea to marry him. Before, when Christopher asked for Brian's permission to marry his daughter, he responded with "Please do!." It was exactly the vote of confidence that Christopher needed.
Here we are at present day, planning our wedding! We're very excited to have all of our family and friends there to celebrate. So let it be known, true love knows no borders including the fight about which is better- the North Shore or South Shore?
