Erik and Andrea met the same way dozens of lasting and loving couples have over the years…The Bachelor as shown on ABC! Well, not exactly…while Erik and Andrea didn’t don their finest suits and dresses for cocktail hour they did start talking through a group chat about The Bachelor. Welcome to the 21st century of dating! Erik and Andrea were introduced through their mutual friends Bill, Darcy and Ben (thanks guys!). Slowly Erik started to win Andrea over with his comedic commentary of The Bachelor. Soon enough though, everyone was fed up with Andrea and Erik taking over the chat, and they were pushed to continue their conversations outside the chat.

In the beginning Erik and Andrea made countless trips to visit each other, with Andrea living in Grand Rapids and Erik living in Detroit. But the distance didn’t matter for the new couple as they knew they had something special. Erik very quickly learned how sincere, loving, and kind Andrea is. He swears to this day she is the kindest person one could ever meet. Andrea found Erik to be one of the funniest and most supportive people she has ever met. He never fails to put a smile on her face, and she truly believes he would do anything to make her feel like she is the luckiest girl in the world. She can’t picture a life without him by her side.

Eventually Erik and Andrea decided to take the next step in their relationship and remove the distance between them, and live together in Royal Oak. Once living together Erik and Andrea started falling even more in love, and knew that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives growing and exploring the world together. Now, one cannot talk about Andrea and Erik without mentioning Boone…Andrea’s chocolate lab (also known as buck-o, Mr. Boonejamin, doggo, and turkey butt). When they started living together Erik worked diligently to win Boone over with many treats and belly rubs, and we think Boone now considers Erik in his top five favorite people…he’ll take what he can get!

After living together for some time, Andrea and Erik decided they wanted to have a place of their own that they could make feel like home. They ended up finding and buying a house in Clarkston that they love. Their joy was only a fraction of the joy Boone had however with his new whole acre of yard space! At the same time that they purchased and started to move into their new home Erik had planned on proposing to Andrea in her favorite place…the U.P. during peak fall colors. Of course, things didn’t go perfectly to plan, and mother nature had some alternate plans (hello gale force winds and rain!). So, the nervous Erik had to quickly think on his feet during their U.P. trip, and he proposed to Andrea at the Manistique Lighthouse. The only thing brighter than the setting sun was Andrea sporting her new bling!

And that brings us to today, where Erik and Andrea are excited to continue their lives together and start this new chapter in their lives. They owe everything to their friends and family and are looking forward to celebrating their love with everyone!
