MEDIEVAL TOWNS
Pals: One of the most beautiful interior towns in la Costa Brava. In summer it can be pretty busy but it's still beautiful to go and wander their ancient streets and visit its 1000 year old church.
Peratallada: One of my favourites! Very similar to Pals, a beautiful mediaeval town. This one is full of restaurants and little shops.
Monells: This one is probably not that popular among tourists but it's simply beautiful. It is very small but very worth the visit. In the main square of the village there are two restaurants where you can have dinner outdoors in the middle of the square and it's very nice.
SEASIDE TOWNS
Begur: This one is up in the hills but next to the sea, with an old castle with amazing views.
Calella de Palafrugell: Craig's favourite and one of the most typical catalan seaside fishing villages. It's so charming. It's a must in la Costa Brava.
Llafranc: You can walk by the sealine from Calella to Llafranc, it's a nice walk and the town is also very nice.
Cadaqués: The gem of la Costa Brava. It is a bit isolated but the visit is completely worth it. As you may know, Salvador Dalí lived there and you can visit his surrealistic house.
BEACHES
S’Agaró - Sant Pol: Beautiful beach with very clear waters with a very nice line of restaurants in front of the beach. If you extend your stay, you will find us there :)
Some of our favourites:
-> Maria Rosa: Best paella.
-> Villa Mas: Very nice restaurant in a modernist house. Catalan cuisine. Very nice for lunch and dinner.
-> Godard: Author tapas from a renown chef. Highly recommended.
-> Taverna del Mar: This is an award winning restaurant. One of the best in la Costa Brava. The food is just amazing. By law, it couldn't be so close to the beach, but the King of Spain gave them permission back then (or that's what the legend says ;)).
TOP TIP: You can walk the “Camí de Ronda” from S’agaró to Sa Conca, which is a beautiful path along the coastline, surrounded by clear waters, coves and one of the most exclusive villas in Spain.
If you go early enough you might get lucky and see a sunrise like this:
Sa Conca: Beautiful cove close to s’Agaró surrounded by pines and with a nice “chiringuito” to have lunch (maybe closed in June).
Aiguablava: Small beach surrounded by pine trees and set in rocky surroundings. The small bay formed by this line of beaches is full with pleasure boats. Our favourite restaurant is right in the sand of this beautiful beach: Toc Al Mar.
Cala Pedrosa: Perfect for arriving with the boat. There is a very remote "chiringuito" on the little beach.
Tamariu: A very nice seaside town with a nice beach.
