Marriage gives us an example of the relationship Christ has with those that believe in Him. Christ is the head of His Church as seen in a marriage as the husband is the head of his wife. While the wife submits to her husband as we submit to Christ, the husband sacrifices himself for his bride to love her just as Christ sacrificed Himself for his Church.
