Our Wedding

Our story begins with Andrea coming to intern for her best friends mom in 2017. She had recently become unemployed and really needed to build her resume. Quickly she was hired on full time. Matthew had been working at the company for many years at the point Andrea started and didn’t know about her. But they began a working friendship of bad jokes and Andrea considerately saving him food during potluck days. An unexpected surprise for Matthew at the time but a much appreciated gesture. Fast forward to fall/winter of 2019. Andrea started having to commute to work by Bart train. On days her manager couldn’t pick her up from the station, Matthew offered to pick her up since he came from that direction anyway. A new dynamic was forming for the pair and they started to crush on one another. There was something there. Matt asked Andrea if she would be interested in hanging out sometime outside of work. She was very open to that. They went on a few dates but kept things casual. For a longgggg time. But leaving each other notes here and there. Always simple notes. “You’re my favorite :)” By June 10th, 2020 (yes. Had to make this work through a pandemic) they came together officially. And from there it’s been a wild ride. Fun trips, concerts, comedy shows, adventures, and a lot of growth individually and as a couple. So here we are now. Matthew proposed at Andrea’s happy place. Secluded at the pool level of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, watching the fireworks over Disneyland snuggled together on the chilly Anaheim night. He whispered in her ear “Will you marry me?” And of course after turning around saying “You better not” she sees him on one knee with a beautiful ring and he asked again “Will you be my wife?”. She tears up and says “Yes!” The future is bright and growth is still coming, but they are ready to take on the world together.

Haley and I have known each other for about 22 years. I was 12 she was 8. Grew up together, watched each other make mistakes and grow from them. Became close after "babysitting" her for a couple years, but those were basically sleepovers. We have had many trips together (mostly to Disney but who cares). I'm excited to have her by my side.

If you know me you know I call this girl my Boo Bear. Not just a best friend but a sister. We started our friendship with a week long trip to LA. Literally only had been talking to each other at church for a week before she asked if I wanted to go, and I am lucky I said yes. You will never know someone as loyal and loving as she is.

I can not begin to describe the love I have for this woman. She has always had my back and my heart. From the time we met till now we just grow closer and closer everyday. I love her son like my own and I love watching her grow. I wish everyone had a Sam in their life. Because I feel greedy keeping her to myself.

Samantha Mulgrew

Though having been close for a short time we have known each other for about 15 or more years. Best friends with Haley for FOREVER means I got to know her for years and really bond over the last 5/6 years. She's the Monica to my Phoebe. Its a blessing to know her and being loved by her feels special.


Shannon Gruce

Co-worker turned best friend is always a special friendship. Seeing each other everyday and getting to know her outside work has been a wonderful journey. Her kindness is contagious and even though she doesn't think so, her humor makes the day fly by. She also noticed the signs of Matt and my relationship from before we were officially together. Shes literally been there for it all and she has a special place in our life. 

Jennifer Lopez

This woman, how can I begin to describe her. We have been friends since about for at least a decade if not longer. Time flew by from the moment we met. From late nights of watching a movie, drinking wine, and eating Spiral Mac & Cheese to her moving halfway across the country we have been in eachothers lives. We might not talk everyday but when we do it's all love and understanding. Through some really hard times to some really fun times we have been able to talk to each other about our grief and our joys. I couldn't imagine life without her presence in it.

PARKING

There is a lot of parking at the venue but please feel free to carpool in so others don't have to park too far down the street. If you are able to park on the street and walk, Please try to leave spots for less able bodied guests.

Things to Do

Berkeley has beautiful botanical gardens. Tilden park also has steam trains, hiking trails and beautiful views of SF skyline. Also the exploratorium is just over the bridge in SF and on thursday nights there is an After Dark experience that is 18+ that is so fun, Matt and Andrea have the After Dark Membership. Bay area Natives know their favorite activities if you are in town for a while. Feel free to ask about other guests favorite activities!
