Our Story

Picture of Our Story

I’ll start this off by saying that the relationship between us is only by the grace of God. We don’t believe in God designing a “soul” mate for His children. We aren’t made for anyone else. Rather, we believe there are many individuals out there with whom we could pursue a Godly marriage. The beauty of it is we get to choose a sole mate with whom we can pursue God together, by His grace and love alone does the other person become our soul mate. And we have chosen each other.

Our story begins in 2020, on a camping trip with mutual friends. We exchanged casual hellos and brief moments, but little did we know, that was just the beginning of something special. Fast forward three years to 2023, Ella’s sister, Ava, worked with Andrew, and thanks to Ella’s love for coffee, we found ourselves crossing paths almost daily at Starbucks.

It wasn’t long before our bond deepened, as we, along with Ava, Andrew, and our friends, began facetiming every night for devotional calls. After each devotional, Ella and Andrew found themselves lingering on the call long after the others had logged off, speaking about everything and nothing, the conversation flowing effortlessly. Our shared faith led us to attend the same Young Adults group at church and going to service together where we began sitting side by side every Sunday.

We decided to serve together in the middle school ministry at Grace Community Church, further intertwining our lives. Then, on January 31st, we went on our first date at Untamed Coffee and A Good Book. Ever since then we’ve been inseparable, hanging out almost every day.

The next nine months unfolded like a dream — day trips, adventures with friends, starting a Bible study together, and countless coffee dates.

And then, on December 14, 2024, Andrew proposed to Ella at A Good Book in Sumner — the very place where it all began. It was a moment so perfect, it could have been taken straight from a Hallmark movie, the culmination of years of friendship, faith, and love.
