99 Days To Go!

Where it started

It was 2021, Andrew was getting ready to end his Junior Year attending the University of Wyoming, while Logan was ending her Junior Year attending Colorado Mesa University. Logan had been friends with Andrew on instagram after seeing him on high school colleagues instagrams and always had an interest in him. After talking with her mom, Logan took a leap of faith, added Andrew on Snapchat, reached out and said “Hey”. After he opened her Snapchat, she then sent, "Nice last name!" Andrew replied with “Hey, I’ve spent the last 30 min trying to come up with a pick up line.”

First Date

After talking for a while on Snapchat, we wanted to get together in person. Logan suggested meeting halfway since they were both home for the summer. Half way between Wray, CO and Cheyenne, WY was Sterling, CO. Andrew knew of a place to eat in Sterling called Sam & Louies Italian Restaurant, so that’s where we decided to meet. After arriving in Sterling and meeting for the first time in person, (Logan was so nervous) we both walked in to Sam & Louies and didn't notice the time flying by. The restaurant started to close while the 4 hour conversation kept flowing. We didn’t want the night to end so Andrew drove us to Walmart due to it being so late and everything else was closed. We walked around Walmart getting to know each other, and then drove around town continuing the conversation. After some bad weather started to roll in, the night, which could’ve lasted forever, had to come to an end with a kiss before driving back home.

Summer of 2021

Logan drove to Wray (3.5 hours) to surprise Andrew after their first date was such a success. Andrew was coaching little league baseball and their first game was on June 1st. She did it on purpose to watch him coach, turns out by the time she got to Wray, weather started rolling in and the games were cancelled when they were at the fields. He was so surprised to see her. So instead Andrew showed Logan around Wray, and Logan got to meet Andrews parents for dinner. After this Logan wanted Andrew to come to Cheyenne and meet her parents, which was sponsored by Texas Roadhouse margaritas and an extra shot of tequila, which was Logan’s favorite…not... it was most definitely Andrew’s favorite. Andrew had never been to Texas Roadhouse so he got to ride the saddle ;) The rest of the summer Logan and Andrew traded off times when to drive to see each other and had an amazing summer meeting each others friends and family at various events like the 4th of July in Wray and Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Andrew’s College Senior Year

Andrew started his senior year at UW in 2021, while Logan went back to Grand Junction. Their relationship started with distance and it continued with the hope of it changing after graduation. Lots of FaceTiming, snap chatting, and miles of driving kept the distance smaller than it was. Each chance Andrew could take, he would drive down to see Logan for a weekend or for a swim meet weekend. When Logan had a break from swimming, she would drive to Laramie to be with Andrew, for either a UW football game or just for the weekend. With Andrew graduating in May of 2022, Logan came up to celebrate and helped him move back to Wray to work with his dad at E-Z Irrigation and Highway 34 Sales.

Logan’s College Senior Year

Logan started her senior year at CMU in 2021 intending to graduate in 2022, however God had different plans for her so she took her 5th year of eligibility, thanks to Covid, to swim and graduated in May of 2023. Through this 5th year of eligibility, Logan changed her career path to become a Physician Assistant and completed the necessary pre-requisites while also getting certified as a CNA. Andrew was extremely supportive of this even being 6 hours away. In February, her last conference swim meet, Andrew was there to support her. In March, Andrew surprised Logan to watch her last NCAA Championship meet in Indianapolis to complete her swimming career. Andrew and Logan planned a trip to see Andrew’s sister in Boston during spring break. And quickly graduation came around the corner. Andrew came up to celebrate and helped Logan move. The exciting thing was that instead of moving Logan back home, he helped her move in with him in Wray.

Life in Wray

Logan and her mom drove the 6 hours from Grand Junction to Wray to move in and also attended his younger sister’s high school graduation. Logan was excited to start her job as a night shift CNA at the Wray Community District Hospital. Andrew got Logan into couples golf in the summer to introduce her to new people in Wray. Through work and golf Logan became friends with so many people in Wray. This made her adjustment an easy one. We went on several fun trips together including Cheyenne Frontier Days, Country Jam in Grand Junction, and celebrating friends’ weddings. In September we along with Andrew’s parents went to San Antonio for a Hustler conference. Finally, both families planned a trip together to Playa Del Carmen for Christmas.

Summer of 2024

Summer of 2024, a very busy summer, Logan and Andrew worked countless hours getting more house work done from last summer along with some play time as well. In April, Andrew took a trip with Logan’s dad to go fly fishing. In May, Logan took a trip to Florida with her best friends. In June, Andrew took a trip to Las Vegas with his college friends (little did Logan know he had bigger plans than just concerts). Logan went to the Olympic Trials with her family in Indianapolis and then we had a fun concert to go to in Denver for our anniversary. In July, the big trip was planned for Andrew and Logan to go to one of their friend’s weddings with a little mini vacation in Cabo San Lucas.

Engaged 07/21/24

Cabo San Lucas started off a little crazy with the flight having to circle in the air before landing, then waiting what felt like forever for luggage. Andrew and Logan got to their resort (thanks to Logan’s grandparents) and got ready for their friend’s welcome party. The welcome party was a blast, and after, we went downtown and had a great time. The next day we sat by the pool and soaked up the gorgeous weather. After the wedding, we had two days to just have fun in Cabo. Saturday was a day spent at the pool, shopping downtown and a sea food dinner near the water. Logan planned a fun excursion for Sunday but Andrew wanted a fun date night at sunset so plans changed a little bit. Logan booked a glass boat tour with a sushi lunch and a private sunset horseback riding tour with a dinner. During the horse back tour and dinner on the beach with the waves crashing, Andrew wasn’t eating much (clue #1)…. I questioned it, but he said he wasn’t hungry due to the big lunch we ate. The sun started setting more, perfect for pictures, which were taken and then Andrew wanted to recreate a video that we did from Christmas (clue #2). *backstory... Andrew is not one for a lot of pictures let alone videos. ;) * Logan said the video wasn’t needed…(she was wrong) it was needed. As she was waiting for him to run up to her and twirl her around like they did at Christmas, instead Andrew got on one knee and had Logan turn around. Of course she said YES!
