As everyone knows, we are covid realists. We're excited to be able to facilitate a covid safer family gathering where we don't have to shoulder the mitigations alone.
Before spending time with us, everyone will take an at home molecular test, which we will provide. If you test positive, you and your household will be asked to sit out the wedding. It's nothing personal; getting sick happens. We love you and will make plans to hang out with you another time! We can also send you a rapid test if you want to take one before traveling all the way here. Rapid test negatives aren't that reliable, so you will have to do a molecular test when you get here. Still, it could help catch a positive before you make a whole trip just to quarantine anyway.
At the ceremony itself, we will ask that everyone masks so that we don't have to. Tests are useful but imperfect, especially when so many people have been traveling. Just pretend it's 2020 or an alternate dimension. The ceremony will be pretty short anyway.
We (Andrew & Kristen) will mask at dinner after the wedding. Masks are always encouraged, but they will not be required for guests at dinner since we're eating anyway. We will likely set up some Far UVCs on the patio to clean the air.
We know most people think of the pandemic in the past tense, but it is ongoing. We have both been hit really hard by covid in different ways and are confident in our assessment of the danger. We don't need to tell you that neither of us are the type to go against our convictions for the sake of conformity. All that we ask of you is that you swab your nose and wear a mask for like 20 minutes!
