Andrew's Version: When I first met Annie I knew she was going to be someone special.
Our story began when I saw her in class with (her friend) Needle and immediately caught my eye. It had to be fate when she walked into my next class, I thought. I leaned over to my buddy Thomas and told him I HAD to introduce myself. Looking back, I'm lucky Annie ever talked to me after I embarrassed her saying, “Hi..” across rows of seats in a crowded Rawls auditorium. Of course, I end up sitting behind her a day later and began years of me using studying as an excuse to hang out with her. From there we were study buddies and coworkers.
Eventually, I asked her to be my girlfriend 4 years ago, to the date of our wedding.
Annie's Version: Although Andrew's side of the story is romantic and very sweet... my side isn't.
It was a new semester and the first day of sophomore year. As I was entering a 200 student lecture hall and finding a seat, I hear a man's voice say "Hey! You are Needle's friend and in my class before". I look up and realize some stranger is talking to me. I awkwardly make eye contact and say something along the lines of "Yeah... Coool" and panic-ly sit down. Within a couple of minutes, I get a text from a friend and immediately move seats to be closer to my friend.
From there the story is a little blurry. I'm not quite sure how Andrew wooed his way into being my friend. But from there on we studied almost every day and became project partners in several of our classes.
We continued this path for almost 2 years. Andrew and I quickly became best friends who did everything together. We had almost every class together, lived 6 houses down from each other, and babysat each other's dogs. We picked each other up from bad dates, and the bars. We genuinely became each other's safest place.
After a while, our friends started questioning our relationship. We had to convince all of our friends, and family that we were "just friends". (And we truly were). But after a while, we got sick of trying to convince people we were just friends, that we tried the whole dating thing out. NOW LOOK AT US, MARRIED :)
