Our Story

Canadian takes on England

I grew up in the small town of Niagara-On-The-Lake, surrounded by fruit trees and the love of my family. Growing up packing peaches and running around fields, I knew one day I would move out of this town, to greater things. I worked hard to get a good education and on August 21st 2019, I decided to take the leap and move my life to England. I knew this would not be an easy step, but was excited to see what the future had for me. I always dreamed when I moved to England, that a British man would sweep me off my feet, and I was beyond thrilled when this actually happened. When I first moved to England, I lived in a small town called Dudley, where I would teach science to Secondary students. This was not easy for me, but each day I learned more about myself and continued to work hard to be successful. In April of 2020, covid came into play. I had to decide whether I stay in England and continue my self loving journey or move back to Canada to be with my family. Of course at the time, I did not know that I would eventually meet my soulmate. I decided to stick it out, and continue to work on myself, to make the best version of me. In August 2020, I decided to move to Oxford, England to live with gal pal Jessica Morris and continue my teaching role at a new school. This move was fun and adventurous and I was feeling positive about what was to come. I explored many parts of England and Europe and was fortunate to surround myself with some loving people. I settled into my new life in Oxford and by just under a year later, my life changed for the best. In May 2021, I met my soulmate, Andrew Brydon, and from then on my life was forever changed. As we start planning our wedding, and continue to build our life together, I can't help but continue to thank my past self, for taking the big leap. I came to England as a Miss and will leave as a Mrs.

So having always lived and worked up in the Northeast of England, I decided to change jobs and travel around the UK for work. One random Friday night in Oxford, me and Matty decided to try the uni style night out. It was just after lockdown and all the pubs had bar codes on the tables. So we were sat outside looking at the drinks menu, when I heard what I thought was an Irish accent asking if our bar code was working? I looked up to see my future wife and her friend Sam, staring back in anticipation of our answer. I got lost in her eyes and smile instantly. So we then invited them to join us for the night. We decided to meet again for food and get to know each other better. As time went on, I found myself visiting Oxford on a regular basis. Our relationship blossomed and I'd never been so happy in my life. It wasn't long before I decided it was time to move to Oxford and take our relationship to the next level. We love spending time in each others company and have become best friends as well as lovers. We do love an adventure, whether travelling all over Europe or visiting family in Canada and Newcastle, or exploring the hidden treasures of the UK. I cannot wait to marry the love of my life and continue our adventure together.

When Canada meets Geordie

Our story begins in a very British way, drinking at a pub. On May 21st 2021 with no clue our lives were about to change for the best, we locked eyes for the very first time. From the minute we met, we know we were special to each other, and were going to create a wonderful life together.

After several cocktails, and sharing our life stories, we agreed to meet up for our first official date that next week, and from then on, we have been inseparable. We began travelling the country together, visiting as many beach side piers and towns as possible. We travelled different countries together, taking in the sites and cuisine. We knew we just loved being with each other, and it was not long before we moved in to our first place. From there, we continued to make more memories, joining a football team together, and finding joy in each others arms. It was not long before we knew, we were going to be together a very long time.

On March 31st 2023, we decided to catch the red eye to Rome, to explore the sites and sip the Italian Prosecco. Little did Hailey know, her life was about to change yet again. On the early morning of April 1st 2023, Andrew woke Hailey up early to view the Trevi Fountain. Andrew still does not know how he convinced Hailey to get up at 7:00 am, dress up and be ready to explore without any hint of a proposal. By 7:30 that same morning, Andrew had popped the question and asked Hailey to be his wife. Through many tears of excitement, Hailey couldn't have said YES any more sure. After travelling and exploring Italy together, we left, no longer as boyfriend/girlfriend but as fiancés. The wedding planning could begin.

Through travelling around Europe, building a home together, and countless memories already made, we are beyond excited to continue on this journey called life together. We have explored many different cities, stayed in lovely Air BnB's, explored wonderous sites, sipped tasty cocktails, but nothing will be as fulfilling as the day we say I DO.

We look forward to celebrating our special day with all of you. We thank each and every one of you for having some part in getting us both here, ready to marry each other. We can't wait to say I DO with all of you.
