Every great love story has a beginning...and ours started in high school, although we only shared one class and only knew of one another at the time. Fast forward to September 2019, Andrew was playing a gig with his brother, Matt, at Watch Hill, Fire Island. Due to all the boat slots being taken at Davis Park, Allie and her friends decided to celebrate her birthday at the same place Andrew was playing. What began as a simple “Hey, I think we went to high school together” and a birthday song, turned into the beginning of a wonderful friendship.
We started out as friends. Just two people who enjoyed spending time together, sharing laughs, and supporting each other through lifes ups and downs. For years, we built a foundation of trust, laughter, and countless memories, never realizing that something even greater was growing between us. Somewhere between the inside jokes, late-night conversations, and time spent together, our friendship quietly turned into something more. The shift was so natural that when we finally looked at each other on our first (marathon) date, we realized our hearts already knew that we belong together.
After a year and a half of dating, Andrew proposed at Prime Steak House in Huntington on December 23rd. Allie was completely surprised and thought nothing of it when Andrew wanted to take a nice picture by the fireplace. With the help of our waiter, Andrew got down on one knee and asked Allie to marry him. Following a romantic dinner celebration, Andrew played Allie a song that he wrote for her, titled, “Will You Marry Me?” The night couldn’t have been more perfect. We were so excited to share the exciting news with our family and friends over the holidays.
Our relationship has always been rooted in the best parts of friendship--laughter, loyalty, and love. Now, as we prepare to say, “I do,” were beyond grateful that our story began with friendship. It gave us the strongest start to a lifetime together, and we cant wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
