Andrew and Christopher (Laggy) locked eyes on one another in a doorway on a crowded sweaty dancefloor at Hunter’s Nightclub in Palm Springs. They talked and got to know each other better. Laggy was from New York City and had recently moved to Los Angeles, where he could continue to work in television. Andrew was from Columbus, Ohio, but had moved to San Diego a few years back. He worked in higher education. Both disliked winter and now enjoyed the sunny southern California weather. After just one night Andrew sensed Laggy had a heart of gold, and he wanted to see him again. They exchanged phone numbers.

Thus began a long-distance relationship. Each would visit the other once a month. Andrew enjoyed the history and excitement of Los Angeles and Laggy enjoyed the beauty and serenity of San Diego. After three years of weekend road trips they were ready for the next step, so Andrew transferred jobs and moved to LA. They found an apartment together in West Hollywood and have lived there ever since.

Together, they have enjoyed traveling, cooking, drinking, dancing, and celebrating with friends and family. Through it all Laggy proved he had a heart of gold, and so Andrew asked Laggy to marry him in 2022.

November 9th, 2023, marks ten years since they first locked eyes on one another.
