We met way back when we were little kids—even doing swimming lessons together in the summer. We went to school together from preschool through our senior year of high school, but it wasn’t until early high school, when we began to spend more time together, that our friendship really began.

We stayed close friends as we headed off to college, keeping in touch despite being across the country—Katie at George Fox University in Oregon and Andrew at Dordt University in Iowa. During our sophomore year of college, we both began to think about being more intentional with each other the following summer.

That next summer, we started dating, and just a couple months later, we began dating long-distance. The next year and a half was filled with lots of FaceTime calls and visits on our spring breaks.

When we’re together, we enjoy going on dates and seeing God’s creation, spending time with family, and making meals together at fun spots like the Paradise Valley Lookout.

After graduating in December, we both moved back home, and on January 17th, at Clarks Point in Bellingham, we got engaged!

We are so thankful for the Lord’s kindness and faithfulness in bringing us together, and we are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
