About a 30 minute drive north from the Plymouth, NH area. Loon offers a White Mountain Express Gondola which is the longest scenic gondola skyride in New Hampshire. Enjoy the views from the gondola ride and at the top you can explore the Summit Glacial Caves, grab something to eat and drink at the Summit Cafe, take a nature walk and stop by the Herbert's Observation Tower.

We love visiting the flumes! The self-guided walk is 2 miles and takes approximately 1.5 hours. The trail is mostly packed gravel with boardwalk sections and includes moderate uphill walking and stairs within the gorge. Less than a 30 minute drive from the Plymouth, NH area.

The panoramic view of Squam Lake is our absolute favorite. The trail is well maintained, has a moderate incline and includes log and stone steps. The short out and back hike to the top is just under 1 mile (0.9 miles to be exact) & usually takes us around 30 minutes so if you want to explore and enjoy the views plan for about an hour and a half to two hours. Take Old Bridle Path to West Rattlesnake. Trailhead/parking is about a 30 minute from the Plymouth, NH area.

Getting there: From 93, take exit 24 (US-3, NH-113) towards Ashland/Holderness. Once you are on US-3, continue on this for 4.5 miles until you reach NH-113. Take a left here and continue on for 5 miles until you the small parking area on your left. You can enter “Mt Morgan trailhead” or “Rattlesnake Mountain trailhead” into your favorite navigational device and just take a right into the correct parking lot instead of heading to Mt Morgan. PLEASE NOTE: If you Google West Rattlesnake Mountain, there is another hike in New Hampshire that has the same name and can easily be confused with this one. When looking at directions, make sure your hike starts near Squam Lake.

Parking: West Rattlesnake Mountain has a small parking lot that can fit about 10-20 cars.
