Is there a hotel room block for guests?
Yes, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Hyatt Place hotel in Royal Oak, MI. Please review the “Hotel Information” tab on our website for more details. Link: https://www.theknot.com/us/andrew-gregg-and-sarah-schmidt-apr-2024/travel.
Will there be transportation between the hotel and the venue?
Yes, there will be a shuttle bus leaving the Hyatt Place Detroit/Royal Oak hotel at 4:15pm to transport guests to the wedding venue. Please indicate on your RSVP if you plan to ride the shuttle bus. There will also be a shuttle bus later in the evening to transport guests back to the hotel. You have the option to take the bus leaving at 9:30pm, 10:30pm, or 11:25pm back to the hotel.
Can I have directions to the venue?
The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is located at 461 Piquette Avenue, Detroit, MI 48202. The building is on the northwest corner of Piquette and Beaubien, three blocks east of Woodward Avenue; two blocks north of I-94 (exit 215c); two blocks south of West Grand Boulevard; and three blocks west of I-75 (exit 54).
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, there is parking available for free in the parking lot across the street from the venue on Piquette Avenue.
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Our ceremony starts at 5:00 pm. We suggest that you arrive 15-30 minutes before the ceremony starts so you will have time to find a parking spot and find a seat!
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes, there is an elevator at the venue as well as stairs to the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Can I bring a plus-one?
We kindly request that only those who are specifically named on the invitation/RSVP attend the wedding.
What is there to do around Detroit/Royal Oak?
The Hyatt Hotel in Royal Oak offers numerous venues within a 5-15 minute walk south of the hotel for eating, drinking, and entertainment. Nearby downtown Birmingham (5 miles) also offers great shopping and dining. Both Royal Oak and
Birmingham have downtown areas that are pedestrian friendly and on-street metered parking available. Detroit and SE Michigan also have their share of art, automotive and historic exhibits and museums including the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.
