Our Wedding

We first met in Denver playing ultimate frisbee, well trying to anyways. We had our first date at a Game of Thrones viewing party where they had a band with Daenerys Targaryen as the lead singer. We bonded over volleyball, music, ice cream, hiking, camping, tennis, hockey, and, of course, golf. We soon rescued Kiwi and then, shortly after, Rory, to join our little family. We traveled all over Colorado, had a great year in Burlington, VT, and returned to Rochester to find our first home. We both knew early on, we were the one for each other and we’d spend the rest of our lives together. Andrew proposed at Taughannock Falls after a hike and glamping with the pups. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all on our long awaited adventure!

Q & A Lodging at Golden Arrow Resort

Lake Placid, NY is a 4-5 hour drive from Rochester, NY. If you’re flying in the closest major airport is in Albany, NY and is a 2 hour drive north to the venue. You can choose to stay at the resort, where it’s the most convenient as the ceremony and reception are at the resort. We’d prefer you all to be close to the celebration as you won’t have to worry about traveling to and from the venue. However, Lake Placid has many options to stay at, motels, inns or bed and breakfast places, if you choose to stay somewhere else.

Minimum 2-3 night stay Following Group Rates: Lakefront with King or 2 queens Thurs - $229 Friday through Sunday: $289 per night Villageside with King or 2 queens Thurs - $209 Friday through Sunday: $259 per night Colden Suite – This room has a King bed on one side, bathroom in the middle, 2 queens on the opposite side, ground floor on the lake Thurs - $359 Friday through Sunday: $409 per night Rocky Peak Suite - This is a 2 bedroom Villageside room with 2 queens and a king Thurs - $309 Friday through Sunday: $339 per night Lakeside Specialty Room – Ground floor lakefront room with 3 queen beds. Thurs - $339 Friday through Sunday: $369 per night Gothics Suite – This is a nice King Bed Suite with a Jacuzzi tub. It’s on the second floor and lakeside. October is the best time of year to see the beautiful fall colors in the ADK. You can rent a kayak to go on Mirror Lake off of the Golden Arrow Resort beach. Walk the easy 2.8 mi Mirror Lake Loop. Drive 5 min to Penninsula Trails on Lake Placid to see Whiteface mountain. Or drive 10 min up to Heaven Hills to see panoramic views of the Adirondack mountains.

Just across the street from the resort, see one of the largest collection of winter Olympic artifacts in the world.

Visit the Olympic sports complex 4 min drive away and learn the history of the jumps and the sport of ski jumping.
