Our Wedding

Mallaig and Andrew met at dinner on a business trip in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, in November of 2023. Mallaig was working for Authentic Cards, where Andrews mom is a sales rep, while Andrew was working at Amazon. Andrew was taking a vacation to hike in the Smoky mountains and help out when Bridget needed it. Mallaig was working hard to make money for her art school. It was smooth sailing for Mallaig, as she traveled with Bill and Iris, the owners of Authentic Cards, who are very diligent with their travel, but Andrews trip was not. He and Bridget went to the wrong airport on their way, driving to San Antonio, instead of Austin, where Andrew had bought the flight. They missed the original dinner that they were supposed to have with Mallaig and Authentic Cards, but by the grace of God, were able to meet on the last day of the show. Andrew and Mallaig met at dinner that included his mom, Bridget, Bill and Iris, and Jimmy, who was another business owner trying to get their business. The dinner was one of those that everything went perfectly, and the ease of being in a group of affable people made it even easier for them to hit it off. Andrew was too shy to ask for Mallaigs number, especially since she lived halfway across the country.

How we met

It took a week for Bridget to reach out to Authentic Cards’ business email to ask for Mallaig’s number on Andrew’s behalf. Mallaig was super excited to receive the message, though the rest of the employees were a bit weirded out. Of course, Mallaig gave her phone number, and they texted back and forth for a bit—until Andrew bought tickets to visit Medford about a month later.

Initial long- distance

Andrew had just joined the Texas Army National Guard and was scheduled to go to Basic Training and Officer Candidate School from February 2024 to August 2024. During this time, they could only communicate on Sundays for up to 30 minutes over FaceTime, and sometimes only by text. Mallaig and Andrew wrote letters to each other every day, and Andrew would receive them about once a week—at least two weeks after they were sent.

Military Training Part I

After training was completed, they met in London and got engaged in Paris, France on August 26, 2024.

Engagement trip

In December 2024, Andrew quit his job and began the process of moving to Medford, OR from New Braunfels, TX. He had to sell his house and find a new job. His official move—and the end of the long-distance phase—was completed in April 2025!

Business Casual Attire. The dinner and reception will be held on a sand volleyball court. Choose your footwear accordingly.

Parking

Because of the extremely limited space at the top of our hill there will be parking in the field across from our driveway. There will be an arrow directing you where to turn and a sign that says "Parking." We will have two shuttle vans running to the top to drop people off. The first shuttle will begin running at 3pm and the last shuttle will be leaving the parking area at 4:25pm to arrive at the ceremony by 4:30pm. If you arrive after the 4:25pm shuttle leaves, please note it will not be coming back down until after the ceremony is over. We ask that you don't attempt to drive up the driveway in your own vehicle but if you would like to try and walk up you are more than welcome. If you are running late and would like to wait down at the parking area, please text Alicia Gresham at (503) 569-4739, and let her know and she will arrange for the shuttle to come down after the ceremony to get you!
