In October 2022, Katelyn and Andrew were connected through a mutual friend, Zoey Chittick.

Katelyn met Zoey at High Point University, during her freshman year, on the first day of class. They soon became very close friends, with it continuing to grow over the years-- memories, adventure and immeasurable chaos.

In 2019, Andrew met Zoey virtually through an Officer Training School academic forum, and connected in-person while at Pilot Instructor Training in San Antonio, TX. Their friendship continued to build and over a cup of ramen, Andrew told Zoey that he was tired of online dating. Zoey mentioned that she had a best friend, Katelyn, who felt the same way.

That October, with Katelyn's permission, Zoey shared Katelyn's number with Andrew. At this time, Katelyn lived in Greensboro, NC, while Andrew was stationed at the Columbus, MS Air Force Base. In December, they chose Atlanta, GA as the location for their first time to in-person meet -- a city halfway between the both of them.

For the first-year of their relationship, they met once a month in Atlanta or Knoxville, TN. When they were not able to spend time in-person, they regularly connected virtually. The meaningful and precious investment that they put towards their relationship, led to an unbreakable, spiritual connection-- permanently shaping their relationship.

In February 2024, Katelyn and Andrew decided they wanted to elevate their relationship. Katelyn made the long journey from Greensboro to Mississippi, where they now live together while Andrew finishes his instructor pilot tour. Little did Katelyn know that Andrew had been planning his proposal of marriage even before she arrived.

Andrew was cast for a local production of the musical "Oklahoma!" and decided to propose to Katelyn in a special and unforgettable way: on-stage. Andrew rehearsed for the show and the proposal for weeks, and in early March it would all come together.

On March 2, 2024, Andrew brought Katelyn to the theatre under the pretense that he would "rehearse one of the dance numbers, and needed Katelyn there to be his dance partner". They performed the entire dance together, and at the end Andrew got down on one knee. Andrew asked Katelyn for her hand in marriage, with the presentation of a beautiful ring.

Katelyn and Andrew have adopted a few beloved hobbies together, like gourmet cooking and road tripping. They have embarked upon the great crusade to visit every national park and national monument in the country (they've already covered most of the American southeast!). For their honeymoon they are planning an epic road trip from Flagstaff, AZ to Glacier Park, MT, where they will visit the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks.

Katelyn and Andrew are elated to celebrate their love and commitment, on March 1, 2025, with their closest family and friends!
