Anthony's Nose is a 2.6 mile hike which has a view of the Bear Mountain Bridge and Hudson River once you reach the peak.
Bear Mountain State Park has a variety of things to do. Feel free to visit the grounds for a hike to the top of the mountain, drive up to the top of the mountain, or walk around the lake near the lodge.
Interesting Facts:
1. The Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, and New York Knickerbockers trained at Bear Mountain during the 1930's.
2. During the 30's and 40's, Bear Mountain hosted: Eleanor Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, and Dwight D. Eisenhower.
3. The famous Appalachian Trail that stretches from Georgia to Maine runs directly through Bear Mountain.
4. Bear Mountain Inn was originally supposed to be Sing Sing Prison.
5. Originally thought to be site of the winter Olympics.
6. Many shows and movies were filmed here: an episode of the Sopranos, a Netflix show "Good Cop", "At fist Site" by Val Kilmer, Liseys Story.
7. The Inn is referred to as the Bear Mountain Inn because the mountains resemble a bear laying down.
