Andrew and Selene both grew up in Clanton, Alabama, and while their paths crossed many times over the years, it wasn’t until their freshman year of high school that their real journey began. That year, they found themselves in the same dance class—paired together as partners. What started as simple steps on the dance floor blossomed into a friendship, and over time, something even more beautiful.

Andrew asked Selene to be his girlfriend—not once, not twice, but three times—before she finally said yes (she swears she just wanted to play hard to get!). Thankfully, Andrew wasn’t one to give up easily.

Over the years, their connection grew through band rehearsals, passing notes in class, sharing silly conversations at their lockers, and late-night McDonald’s runs. From small everyday moments to big memories, their friendship turned into a deep and lasting love.

When it came time for college, Andrew was headed to Auburn and Selene to Birmingham. As excited as they were for the future, the thought of being apart brought some nerves. Would their relationship stand the test of distance and busy schedules?

But with lots of phone calls, weekend visits, and a shared commitment to each other, they proved that love really can go the distance.

Andrew spent months secretly planning the perfect proposal, managing to keep everything under wraps—even though practically all of their family and friends were in on it!

He chose the Huntsville Botanical Garden, a place that held special meaning for both of them. Exactly one year earlier, they had visited the gardens during a particularly tough season in their relationship. It was there that they made the choice to keep fighting for each other, to stay committed through every high and low. So when Andrew got down on one knee in that same beautiful garden, it was more than just a proposal—it was a full-circle moment of love, growth, and faith.

Now, we're so excited to take the next step in our journey together—marriage! We feel incredibly grateful for the love and support from our family and friends who have walked alongside us through every season. As we prepare to say “I do,” we can’t wait to celebrate this new chapter with all of you.
