In the summer of 2019, right before my senior year of college, I was training for a half marathon with my dad. One day on a run, I experienced a lot of pain in my knee and as the training progressed, the pain got worse. I went to see a doctor who did some scans and when it was all said and done, he recommended physically therapy and referred me to a therapist that knew a ton about golf to make sure I would get the best treatment and be ready to head back to school for my last year of college golf. One day for my PT appointment, my therapist and I went golfing and he told me he had a guy he wanted me to meet. I laughed, not thinking much of it and that was the end of the conversation.

Before We Met

Tuesday, August 13th, 2019 was my last PT appointment before heading back to school. It also happened to be the morning after my 21st birthday. I was a little hungover as you could imagine and my therapist decided it would be a good idea to give me some tough exercises for the last day. I completed the workout, my PT did some stretching on my knee and then examined it one last time. As I was laying on the table dripping sweat, a very attractive guy probably not much older than me walks into the clinic. This guy sits down at the table next to where I was lying and starts talking with my physical therapist. He introduced himself as Andrew. I would eventually find out this was the guy that my physical therapist was talking about a few weeks before on the golf course. We all start talking and I find out Andrew used to work at the clinic and was now in PT school. After some more small talk, I mentioned I was headed to Nashville to celebrate my 21st birthday that weekend. It just so happened that Andrew was also headed to Nashville the same weekend for a celebratory trip with his friends for finishing their first semester of grad school. Coincidence? I finish up my stretches and thank my physical therapist for treating me throughout the summer. I turned to Andrew and said it was nice to meet him and that maybe I would see him in Nashville. I walked out the door of the clinic, got into my car and immediately called my sister Mary. I told her I met a cute guy and he is going to be in Nashville and I am sure he has some cute friends that will be there too, and we have to meet up. Later that day, I got a friend request on Facebook, and a follow request on Instagram from Andrew Telschow.
