It was my first Sunday on campus and, while I wish I could tell you more details, all I can really remember is the tall guy, who I'd just met, driving me to church, not looking at the road, because he couldn't seem to stop looking at my spot in the backseat through the rearview window. Over the next few weeks, Andy proved himself to be a much safer driver, taking me to late night fast food stops after Godspell rehearsal. One night, over a nervously uneaten burger and fries, he officially asked me out. We filled seven months with impromptu Florida trips, Sunday mornings at church, grocery runs, study sessions, laughter, tears, prayers, walks outdoors, and, of course, so much more. On April 10th, Andy proposed (and I cried). The months afterwards have been filled with anxious excitement and ever growing love as we look towards our future. I couldn't be more grateful that Lord put Andy in my life when He did and I will forever cherish the phenomenal partner and friend that Andy was, is, and will be.
Ella and I met on the first weekend of my sophomore year at Asbury. My friend, Riley, asked if her roommate could tag along to church with us. I agreed but didn’t really think too much of it... that is, until she hopped in my car. I remember sneaking glances at her through my rear-view mirror at red lights all the way there. After that I seized any opportunity I could think of to ask if she wanted to hang out (including switching my Spanish class period to 8:00 AM just so I could take it with her). A little under a month later, I officially asked her out. Through the months that followed, I continued to realize more and more how sure I was that she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Skipping forward to the end of Sophomore year, while we were home for Easter break, I asked her to marry me and I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited as when she said yes!
