One uneventful day after school, circa 2005, Mae120219 received a message from RyanAndyBob. Or, as Andy would tell the story, the complete opposite happened...

We still debate on who messaged whom first, but a few mutual friends, dial-up internet, and a shared love of the RHCP gave way to our friendship many years ago.

In the early years, we were never in the same place at the same time when it came to dating. We ran into each other on dates with other people, saw each other in passing with different groups of friends, but primarily kept in touch via AIM, Myspace, and the occasional phone call--on a landline, remember those days? There was even an accidental "hi, babe" when Andy called and I confused him for my boyfriend at the time...which made for an awkward phone conversation but quite ironic, looking back. Subtle foreshadowing and the advancement of technology (aka Facebook, Wi-Fi, and texting instead of AIM) led to us reconnecting in college with fresh perspective and on the dating scene again. We were finally in the same place at the same time and didn't waste the opportunity.

While we also heavily debate about who initiated the first kiss, we can’t argue how much fun we’ve had together from the very start. From shooting straw wrappers, ruining yawns, foot races and Eddie Money on repeat, to homemade sangria nights with Sammy and Dean, pterodactyl showdowns, and having long conversations into the night about the scientific accuracy (or lack thereof) of the sci-fi movie we just watched, we found our missing halves. And we couldn’t talk about our lives together without mentioning our four slobbery, cuddly, way-too-big-to-be-lap-dogs lap dogs who keep every day interesting for us. We have shared 13 and a half amazing years together. We have supported and loved each other through our education, careers, losing loved ones, and everything in between, and have finally made it to our goal of getting married while having our nearest and dearest to celebrate alongside us.
