(yes this picture is at our wedding venue! when we first started dating!) This isn’t your typical “we met at a bar” love story.

It all started in November 2015....

I was sitting in social media class working on a project called the Telethon, it was getting close to Christmas break so there was bunch of projects to do. The Telethon was something our school did around Christmas time for fundraising, and it was an all day event which is why we were making projects on social media. There was this particular boy in my class that I would always stare at, get butterflies around, and never work up the courage to say something. It was one of those things where you know somebody is staring at you and you want to stare back and start a conversation but not me. My friends always encouraged me to talk to him because at that age it's a big deal when you like somebody.

Fast forward to the day of the telethon, a few people would go around the school filming and the school would lip sing Christmas songs throughout the hallway. The class that I had to do the telethon with was my Multi Media class (ironic). Our teacher gave us a cup of M&Ms and confetti to throw around while this was happening. (Obviously not the M&Ms) As we were lining up in the hallway to lip sing... *BAM* something hit me in my leg. So I started looking around and nobody was acting out of the ordinary so I was like maybe I'm just making this up. So I'm talking to my friend and *THUD* I got hit again, now I was getting irritated. Now, if you've known me for longer than a week, you know I'm very competitive and I played softball. So whoever was throwing things at me probably was in for a rude awakening. As I scanned everybody's faces in the hallway, low and behold, Dylan's face was beat red and laughing, trying not to look at me. Me being me, I started throwing M&Ms at him as hard as I could and I think he learned in that moment that he had no clue what he was getting into. As you could imagine, it went exactly how you probably are thinking. We threw these damn M&Ms at each other until we ran out of them. (Obviously I threw them harder) December finally came around and my friend Sarah was having her birthday party. I will never forget, December 1st 2015. I was told that I was allowed to invite anybody I wanted, so I did. If you can think of who I invited. But finding his number was the hardest thing I think I have ever done, it was like trying to find a ghost. I know what you're thinking (just ask him) no, I am very shy to when it comes to talking to somebody who I was basically head over heels for. But I ended up finding his number and I worked up the courage to text him (after looking at the send button for an hour after I typed my message). I remember the exact text I sent him "Hey its Ang from Bio and Media class. My friend Sarah is having her birthday party and said I could invite people but you don't have to go if you don't want to and you can bring your friends too" After I sent it, I threw my phone and didn't want to look at it.

He finally answered within minutes which felt like decades. He responded with "I don't know who Sarah is but I would love to come. Let me see if I can go"

Now when I tell you I couldn't breathe I was so excited...

The night of the party we were going ice skating down in Pittsburgh. Though, I almost didn't go, I was so scared of literally everything. What if he didn't like my hair that night, what if me not being able to skate made him not like me, what if I'm too weird (I am), so many what ifs were floating around in my head. When we got there we started skating and I barely talked to him, he was with his friends and I was with mine. We got on the ice and since he played hockey he was gone in a second. Me... different story (and I wasn't faking just to skate with him). I started skating (well... walking) and I think he lapped me at least 9 times. All the sudden, I feel another hand grab mine and I looked up and it was him. In that moment, Everything around me disappeared, it was like surreal. It felt like we were the only ones in Pittsburgh, only ones on the ice, with our hands intertwined. It was perfect, our hands fit like they were meant to be, he grabbed my other hand and skated backwards to help me stand up. In that moment, I fell in love. And I fell HARD. I know it's crazy to hear and people said I didn't know love at that age and that quick, but I did, and I still do. His eyes were home. From that moment on, I found my soulmate. When you know, you know.

4 years go by, and I move down to college and no it wasn't easy but we made it. People said nobody ever stays together in college because that's when they find out who they really are and find themselves.

Junior year in college and we had the idea of going on a picnic at this overlook called Hawn's Overlook. (Highly recommend checking it out). So I packed some food and we hit the road. The whole car ride Dylan was quiet and not really saying much, which I'm the talker but this was way to quiet for even him. I kept asking him what's wrong and nothing is all he could say. Once we finally got there I had to pee so bad, of course there were no bathrooms, and I was in a dress in the woods. Dylan started getting very irritated that I wasn't peeing in the woods, so I said I would hold it. We go to the overlook and it is breathtaking, while Dylan is pacing everywhere behind me. So I finally got him to sit down and talk to me, he starts talking about our journey and how far we've come and how everybody doubted us and we still made it. Which was definitely not what Dylan talks about on a daily so I thought it was weird. There was another couple there and for some reason Dylan started getting mad at them for not leaving, I told him we can leave because the overlook closed at dusk. He was refusing to leave, he wanted them to leave so bad. They finally left and it was about to be dark so I said "okay lets go I don't want to get stuck here" and he said "what about our picture" I was over it but I said okay. So he sets up his camera to take the picture and it's in video mode and already recording. He starts taking off my promise ring and I said to him "what are you doing keep that on" and he kneels to the ground and starts saying how much he loves me, my heart is racing. My best friend/soulmate is asking me to marry him.

Obviously I said yes or you wouldn't be reading this.

We have loved each other every day through the hard and great times, thick and thin. We have stuck by each other's side through things we didn't agree on. We never go to bed mad, and we cherish every second together. Here's to marrying your best friend!
