Our story began in 2020 when my old neighbour sold her house. The new neighbours did not move in right away. As usual everyone wants to see who they new neighbor is going to be.

Luckily, that evening the new neighbour came over to the house. It started to snow that evening so I had the perfect opportunity to go outside to shovel the snow. Keep in mind we shared a drive way. I made sure I shovel his drive way too. He was so surprise that I was shoveling his drive way, he was speechless. I wanted to see who the new neighbour was and I did. We introduce ourselves. He told me his name was Matthew. I never forget it.

From that day on I kept telling all my friends that my new neighbor was so hot.

He moved in and not long after he started renovation. Let me tell you the noise I put up with. I keep saying in my mind that he is so lucky he is cute. He felt bad about the noise, so every time he saw me, he apologized for the noise. Of course, you know I played it down. I told him it doesn’t bother me at all.

During the renovation period he invited me to take a tour of his house to can see what he has done.

During the tour of the house he made sure to let me know he was single. That is when I knew he was interested in me.

We were both attracted to each other but afraid to show it. We both kept our feelings to ourselves. I kept telling myself that we are living too close for comfort. What if it does not work out.

We became good neighbours. We started talking about life. One day I asked him what do you do for fun? His answer was "nothing, because I don’t have the time. Too busy working and doing renos". So, I told him, you need to take a break, from working so hard. It is not healthy. Then he told me, "Ok one day I will take a break and we can have a glass of wine together". I said "that sounds good".

I noticed that every evening I got home from work he would be in his garage working no matter the weather.

After we started dating, he told me the reason he was in the garage is because he wanted to see me.

In December of 2021 on New Year Eve. I had no plans so I decided to take him up on his offer. So, I sent him a text. If I remember correctly it read like this: if you are not busy or have plans for later how about you taking that break you well deserve and we having that glass of wine you promise.

My heart was pounding like crazy, not knowing what the answer will be. Hoping he'd say yes.

After a few minutes he replied and said of course he will love that.

I went over to his place for 6 pm that afternoon and did not leave until 5 am the next morning.

It was the best New Year Eve we ever had.

A few days later he told me this is it you are the person I been waiting for my whole life. From that day we do everything together.

One year later he sold his house then six months later I sold my house and we bought a house together.

On Easter Sunday 2024 he proposed to me at his moms house. Of course I said YES.
