Angela and I first met through a dating website, one fateful day, when she decided to like my profile. After carefully reading her profile several times, checking for any tale tale signs that she might be a psychopath, everything seemed to check out (the jury is still out) so I decided to like her back and send her a message.

We began to talk and seemed to be making progress until a couple of days later on Sunday afternoon. That day, we had been chatting back and forth for a while and were both "busy" doing things. She was "painting" while I was cleaning house and cooking dinner. When my dinner was done I told her I needed to go eat dinner with my son and asked her to please message me back when she finished "painting". She assured me that she would. I was excited and I planned to ask for her number so we could talk on the phone instead of through the impersonal dating site messaging.

Several hours passed and I had not heard from Angela. In the meantime, I had finished dinner and put James to bed. I then decided to send her a follow up message which simply asked, "Did you finish your painting?" Chirping crickets....... I heard nothing from her that evening or even the next day. I was quite disappointed but not really surprised. I just figured I had met another typical "flake" which is an all too common experience on dating sites. I figured it was better to find out now than later. She had mentioned to me, in our conversation Sunday afternoon, that her membership was expiring soon but I didn't think she meant in the next 5 minutes! I did have it in the back of my mind that maybe her membership actually expired before she had a chance to get back to me but I didn't give it too much thought. I pretty much said the heck with her and moved on. I'm pretty sure I said a few, not so nice, choice words about her as well! I did not hear anything from her for the rest of that week.

All of a sudden, late morning on Friday, October 4, 2019, I received a message from her. The message indicated that she was really sorry for not getting back to me sooner. It also indicated that she had had a very busy week and that her membership had indeed expired. At the time, I was busy working so I glanced at the message, put the phone back in my pocket and said "WHATEVER!" Later that day, after I got home, I thought about it and decided to give her a chance to better explain herself. At this point what did I have to lose. I replied to her and we began to message back and forth.

After a while, we were getting more comfortable and discovered that we shared some very specific things in common. That evening I asked her if I could have her number before her membership "expired" again....lol. She reluctantly (I think) gave me her number so I called her. After just a few minutes on the phone, we were talking like old friends. The longer we talked, the more we discovered we shared some very unique common experiences. The two most notable shared experiences were that we both found ourselves raising children as single parents after losing a spouse and that we had both watched someone very close us going through the same very specific and horrific disease and treatment. It started to become very clear that we did not meet by chance alone.

We started talking around 8:30 Friday evening and did not get off the phone until after 4:00 Saturday morning. After a few hours sleep, we got on the phone again, spending most of Saturday and all night on the phone again.

After a few hours sleep we met and went on a date Sunday, October 6, 2019, to the Georgia National Fair. We had a wonderful first date together and have been together, at minimum, every weekend since. We have been blessed with an amazing relationship and a love for each other that is unlike anything either of us have ever experienced.

During the first month we were dating we got very little sleep because we were always on the phone. In fact, my phone got shut off repeatedly by my carrier for unreasonable use, even though I was on an "unlimited plan". Honestly, I could not argue because it was definitely unreasonable use. Ultimately, I ended up switching carriers and my phone has not been shut off since. We still spend much of our time on the phone when we are not together but we do usually allow each other to get some rest.

One thing I forgot to mention is that when I went to her house for the first time, I got to see the "finished" result of her painting the day she ghosted me. It was a single brushstroke on the wall of her dining room! She will never live this down as long as we live! Every time I think about it, I give her a hard time about how busy she was "painting" and the fact that she completely ghosted me for almost an entire week.

In all seriousness, I could not be any happier and I am so thankful God brought us together. No one I have ever met has been so compatible with me. We are madly in love with each other and that love continues to grow every day. I am truly excited about us spending our lives together!

I love to hear Scott tell our story. I can honestly say that he did not exaggerate it at all. It was all the absolute truth. My subscription did end and I pondered for a few days if it was really worth another $38. I wasn't sure if he was another "flake" as well.

Something kept saying in my mind to give it another shot and see if you can talk to him. So I did and I have never regretted it or wanted my $38 back...lol.

I found the man I have always dreamed of since I was a young girl. I still cannot believe that it is for real at times. I thank God every day for blessing me with all of my loving family, friends and now a man who completes me.

We both have been through some tough times but this has made us the people we are today and makes us perfect for each other.
