"On February 15, 2024 we met at a group outing through some mutual friends. At the end of the night Manu asked for my number. I hesitated, but my friend told me that he was the nicest guy there and that I could completely trust him, so I gave him my number.

The next day when I saw he had messaged me, I noticed that his last name on Whatsapp said Dios es Bueno (God is good). When he asked me if I wanted to meet out someplace I said, 'Sure, I want to hear your God story.' The first 2 hours we talked only about the Lord (through our translator apps) and couldn't believe how much we had in common.

We had so much fun and felt like we had known each other for years, so we started seeing each other almost daily. We worshipped together, we prayed together and very quickly we knew that God had created us for each other.

Over the next several months God continued to show us Proverbs 3;5,6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. IN all you ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

We are positive that God brought us together for such a time as this as we are each other's greatest love and complete each other. Additionally, we equally love God and want to serve Him together for the rest of our days! It is our prayer that God will be glorified through everything we do as missionaries and that together we can help heal and transform our world with the beautiful presence of God!" - Angela

Angela's thoughts:

"I felt an instant connection to Manuel and his gentle, kind and peaceful presence. It was unreal how well we just understood each other- even without speaking the same language! I knew God was up to something as I had no intention of ever dating someone who didn’t speak English. Yet after that first date, he’s all I could think of! So, after several times of hanging out, I told him that I didn't date to just date, but that I was looking for my future kingdom partner. He said he felt the same way so we started praying daily about if God had a future for us... and with every time we saw each other, we fell more and more in love.

Manu is seriously the nicest, most gentle and the KINDEST man I’ve ever met in my life. His giftings so beautifully compliment mine and we minister so well together. Manu’s presence brings me so much peace and joy, and his love and commitment to me (and God) is beyond anything I could have ever imagined!!! I honestly feel like pinching myself every day and am beyond grateful to God for His great redemption in my life. I am truly elated to be gaining such an amazing husband and kingdom partner!

One day I told God that when I look at Manu I see His face... to which God reminded me that his name is Manuel, which means "God with us." I have told my friends on many occasions that if I did not believe in God, I would believe because Manu demonstrates God's love and faithfulness to me in a way I've never seen before.

Needless to say, when Manu asked me to marry him, it was a definate YESSSSSSS! My sweet love Manu is seriously the greatest gift I've ever received and I'm so grateful to God for him!"



Manu's thoughts:

"When I met Angela, I had no idea what God had in store as I had resigned myself to not look for love for a long time. I didn't imagine that all of this was one of God's mysterious plans for us! When we went out 2 days after meeting, we realized that we both love God deeply, that we had many things in common, and the miracle happened. There was a spark, and in her eyes I saw the intensity of God's love, a joy, and an amazing energy. I was amazed as I had never met a woman like that, and from that day everything changed. I thought about her often, I wanted to see her more and try to talk to her, try to understand her, and to learn her language.

I found love without even looking for it… when and where I least imagined it. When it is no longer you who searches, but God who brings her to you. Those surprises that God enjoys giving you with an invisible smile. :)

She really is much more than I could have asked for in many ways. I was explicit with God that I did not want to hold on to my will, but to His. And the more I prayed to God, the more peace I had with her, the more we understood each other, and the more we fell in love. Because of the way things flowed so easily with her, I knew she was the wife I had prayed for and I made the decision to ask her to be my wife, and she accepted! The most wonderful woman I had ever met in my life accepted… and our love story continues!"

We both want to thank each one of you for your prayers over us individually over the years - as we know they helped us find each other in Colombia although we are from different countries. Manu is following in the footsteps of his paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother who were both missionaries in Venezuela.
