Our Wedding

Neil's path and my path crossed for the first time in 2005 when we both attended Springfield Heights Nursery School together. Little did we know that twenty years later, we’d be getting married! One of our class field trips back then was to the Mennonite Heritage Village – which makes it all the more meaningful to be having our wedding there. We continued to go to school together and attended Donwood Elementary School from kindergarten through grade five. For junior high and high school, we went our separate ways, attending different schools and didn’t cross paths again for several years. At the end of high school, I started working at Sobeys as a cashier. About a year later, Neil began working in the produce department at the same store. I remember recognizing him on his first day, but I was too shy to say anything. A few months later, Neil had the courage to start up a conversation with me – and after that, I did everything I could to find opportunities to talk to him because I was very interested. I later found out he was just as interested too. Neil asked me on our first date to the Leaf in the summer of 2023, and that summer was filled with long walks, bike rides and learning new board games. I quickly discovered that we shared so many common interests, values and beliefs and that we just loved spending time with each other. In December 2024, I was so fortunate to be able to join Neil and his family on a vacation in Florida. Looking back, it might have seemed obvious to everyone else, but I did not know that Neil was planning to propose on the trip. One evening, Neil took me to a very beautiful seafood restaurant along the beach at a fancy hotel. After dinner, we went for a sunset walk, and there was a soft fog hanging over the water, creating the most gorgeous sunset I’ve ever seen. When we reached the end of the beach, Neil set up his camera for a self-timer video. In that moment, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes!!! Neil and I are so excited to be getting married in August and we are incredibly thankful that you will be there to celebrate this special day with us. Each one of you have played a meaningful role in our lives, and we are so happy that you will be a part of this new stage in our life.&nbsp; With love, Angela
