Our story began when we met in 2018 through a mutual friend. Shortly after, we pursued a long distance relationship due to Angie living in Yorktown and Alex living in Richmond with a lot of our time together being spent on FaceTime or Skype. The long distance relationship was short lived when we found that being young (Angie being 16 & Alex being 17) and having barriers to truly being able to see each other in person was too difficult at the time. We continued staying connected with one another until we lost contact with each other by the end of 2018. During the time we no longer talked to one another, Angie moved to Richmond to attend Virginia Commonwealth University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

By our surprise, we were unpredictably reconnected through God’s timing on November 14, 2019. We met at Movieland at Boulevard Square when we both attended a showing of the documentary called “16 Bars”. As Angie sat on the first row of the back section of the theater, she remembers hearing a voice in her head saying “Keep looking at the people walking in” with a feeling of anxiety. Within the next few minutes, Angie saw Alex walk into the theater. This moment felt like a “God moment” as Alex had described it the night of. We both knew that there was no other way to explain this moment besides it being of God’s doing. Our reunion with one another was shortly lived, but Gods calling for us to be in each other’s lives were evident in the connections we found within each of our lives leading up to February 18, 2023.

On March 12, 2023, we finally got the chance to intentionally meet each other in person for the first time at Community Baptist Church. Since reconnecting, we have placed our relationship in the hands of God and have focused our relationship to be God-Centered.

On April 30, 2023, we started dating. On January 6, 2024, we were engaged.
