Once upon a time, Ang was embarking on the hot girl summer of 2022. Andrew was living his best life as a rock climber, looking to get into the Chicago dating scene. Andrew and Ang both downloaded an up-and-coming dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel. They were both recommended the app by friends who had met their spouse on the app. At first Andrew thought Ang was a bad texter, but instead of calling it quits, he asked her to meet in person. Ang and Andrew met at a brewery in Lakeview, Chicago and ordered beers and fried pickles. The date was short but so great that Andrew asked Ang on the second date before the first was even over. Andrew’s idea for the second date was an art museum. Luckily for Andrew, Ang said yes because she thought it was classy (even though she hates museums). The second date was when they both realized they had stumbled on something special. Their mutual interests, common experiences, and future aspirations have kept them inseparable since that fateful second date.

Andrew and Ang spent the rest of 2023 making great memories traveling, meeting friends and family, and celebrating big life milestones like Andrew’s Master’s graduation. In April of 2023, Ang and Andrew went to Puerto Rico for a romantic week by the ocean. The trip was filled with beautiful beaches, great food and drinks, and lots of laughs. This is when Andrew became certain he wanted to marry Ang. They will always look back on that trip knowing that was the pivotal moment that cemented their future as a couple.

Andrew wasted no time. On Cinco de Mayo 2023, Andrew got on one knee asking Ang to be his wife in their home in Wrigleyville, Chicago. Since then, they have bought a house, fallen deeper into their gardening hobby, planned this wedding, and taken many trips to visit family and friends.

Now onto the next chapter: from strangers, to dating, to betrothed, to husband and wife. October 12, 2024 here we come!
