Is there a dress code?
Semi-formal dress code will be appropriate. Please keep in mind that our ceremony will be indoors, while our reception will be outdoors underneath a tent. During July in inland San Diego county, we expect temperatures in the mid to high 80's during the day and mid to high 60's later at night. There will be an air conditioned room to cool you off after you work up a sweat by dancing!
How is parking at the church and at the reception?
St. Michael's Catholic Church has a large parking lot, so parking should not be an issue. However, it would not hurt to be early, especially since the ceremony starts at 2pm sharp!
Ethereal Open Air Resort will have complimentary valet parking as soon as you pull in.
How far away are the ceremony and reception?
The reception is approximately a 30 minute drive from the church. This means you will have plenty of time to get to the reception after mass!
Some suggestions on what to do in between the ceremony and reception:
Mostra Coffee (12045 Carmel Mountain Rd #302, San Diego, CA 92128) - Our favorite local coffee shop in San Diego! Try the creme brulee latte if you'd like something warm. To cool down, we suggest a cold campfire latte or any of their cold brews!
House of Black Coffee (11385 Poway Rd Suite 110, San Diego, CA 92128) - Another local, relatively new, third wave coffee shop with great specialty coffee and beans.
Stone Brewing (1999 Citracado Parkway, Escondido, CA 92029) - Looking for a drink before the reception? Check out the famed Stone Brewing with a beautiful outdoor garden and many beers and wines on tap!
Sharetea ( 945 W Valley Pkwy Ste. D, Escondido, CA 92025) - One of our favorite boba shops recently opened up a new location in Escondido, which is conveniently located right off of the 15 freeway on the way to the reception. Try the Okinawa Pearl Milk Tea!
What is the schedule of events?
2pm - 3pm: Ceremony @ St. Michael's Catholic Church
4:30pm-5:30pm: Cocktail Hour
5:30pm: Reception Begins!
approximately 6:00pm: Dinner Service Begins
approximately 7:00pm onward: Toasts, Dancing, Cake Cutting, Bouquet Toss, Garter Toss, Anniversary Dance, Money Dance, and more dancing! Please bring your best dance moves! :)
Do I need to bring anything else besides my dance moves?
Cocktail hour will include a hosted beer and wine bar with additional spirits and liquor available for purchase with cash. After cocktail hour, a cash bar will be available. There is no ATM on site.
Please drive safely! Catching an Uber or Lyft at Ethereal should take no longer than 15 minutes.
