Our Wedding

Once upon a time, there lived a boy and a girl tied by a thread.&nbsp; Neither could see it, nor hold it, but here’s what it said… "You are connected to someone out there, so you’ll be pulled and you’ll search. Until one day, you find yourselves face to face and see how much this searching was worth." They lived close to one another so the thread could be tied. But life kept sending them away from each other, far and wide. Every now and then, they would feel a tug—a pulling in some direction. But it was hard to listen, to feel it, with life commandeering their attention. Like heavenly bodies caught in orbit, they circled each other, unaware of their course... Constantly pulling on one another—an equal and opposite force. As the boy travelled further from the girl, the pulling intensified.&nbsp; Both could feel the pressure, but neither knew why.&nbsp; Feeling the strain, both committed to lives and interests on their own. Both said, “I’ll follow MY path. I’ll make MY home.” But the strongest of forces are out of our control. All it takes is for family and friends to help make us whole. Seeing a spark, a hope, maybe even the thread of fate... The best of them decided to set up a date. To reign in the New Year with festivities and fun... A cousin and a buddy decided they should both meet someone. A party of parties was rolling in full swing. The thread was pulled taunt, it was finally happening. The guests arrived, the dice were rolled. Fate played its hand, it was time for a new story to unfold. They greeted each other and exchanged some pleasantries. Then the boy said, “Angie, you’re with me.” From that point on, the boy and the girl weaved themselves tighter in a knot. Whether it was over a game of pool or at a celebration of life, their feelings could not be fought. The life and the love they felt pulling at them all their lives... Was suddenly there, a passion ignited from inside. As family and friends could see, and as they would both learn... Their lives were to be intertwined at every turn. Through family vacations and weekend trips... The boy and the girl became attached at the hip. They decided they should live together, they decided to elope. As they grew together, their thread became as thick as a rope. Their story continues from now to beyond. All they need is a good party and their “swan song”… It’ll sound something like true love. True love... True love…

What is the dress code?

Formal/Cocktail attire. We ask the women to wear a nice cocktail dress (no white or red please) or classy pantsuit. Men should wear a suit, coat, or dress shirt with tie in any color (but maybe not a white suit). It will be early October, so it will probably be cooler.

Are my children invited?

We are planning for an adult celebration, and we are asking that all guests make arrangements for their children to be taken care of accordingly. Please feel free to reach out to us if needed.

What food will be served?

We'll setup a couple of food stations with various appetizers for everyone to enjoy. There will be a main dinner service with two meats and two sides. We will list the ingredients to avoid any particular allergies. Feel free to contact us for specifics. There will be several drink options from the bars, which will be full service; however, sodas will be a la carte.

Will the wedding be indoors or outside?

The ceremony will take place outside with the reception indoors. However, we will pivot based on weather. There is plenty of space for people to hangout, eat, dance, play games, and enjoy the evening.

Do you recommend any hotels nearby?

We invite guests to check out the AC Hotel (across the street) and Marriott (~0.5 mi away), but there are several in the nearby vicinity. We have reserved hotel blocks for the AC Hotel. We will not be providing any shuttle services to and from hotels.

 Wedding Parking

With the wedding at Indigo Hall (190 Ezell St), there are a couple of parking options. After 5 on Friday and all day Saturday &amp; Sunday, there is no charge for the QS/1 parking deck on Ezell St, the Redsail (QS/1) parking lot on Daniel Morgan Avenue, and the Magnolia Street Garage. Surrounding street parking is also available at no charge on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday Funday Brunch

There are no official Sunday plans for post-wedding breakfast or brunch. However, we recommend checking out Cribb's Kitchen (across from the AC Hotel) whenever you're up and hungry. We know we'll find our way there.

Is there anything else I should expect?

This is a party for family and friends to come together and celebrate. We want everyone to come and enjoy seeing old and new faces!

Charlotte Douglas International Airport is approximately 1 hr and 30 minutes from downtown Spartanburg.

AC Hotel by Marriott Spartanburg

A hotel block rate is available for October 3 - 5 under "Halsmer Corso Wedding" for the AC Hotel. It is a 2-night minimum (Friday &amp; Saturday). The last day to book under the group rates is 9/3/25 (Wednesday). Spartanburg Marriott is located in historic downtown Spartanburg. The property features 29,604 sq ft of event space that can be used for a variety of functions. Guests can take a refreshing plunge in the pool. Dining options are aplenty at the hotel, with 2 restaurants and a bar on-site. Spartanburg Expo Center is a 15-minute drive away. The rooms at the Spartanburg Marriott are furnished with a work desk, lounge chair, and a coffee maker. Marble accents and a hair dryer are provided in every bathroom. A flat-screen TV is offered as well. Spartanburg Marriott offers a full-service business center with free WiFi. A full service fitness center is provided as well. The Comfort Suites At WestGate Mall recently underwent a complete hotel renovation in 2022, including all rooms and public areas. The hotel is five miles from the University of South Carolina Upstate. Visitors will enjoy being close to a number of local attractions like the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium and the Spartanburg Expo Center multipurpose venue.
