People like to ask me "how did you and John meet?" and I always feel so weird. We don't have a unique "Meet Cute". We met on a dating app. Simple. When I answer this question, I feel a bit awkward, almost ashamed.
I wish instead people would ask me "What stood out about John when you met?" If someone were to ask me this question, they would see me glow. What stands out about John? He is open. From day one, it was so easy to converse and connect with him. He is patient. He doesn't judge me too harshly and creates time and space to help me grow. He is present. Whether driving 2 hours to care for me when I'm sick, or taking time to hear out my heart when I am struggling, he does his best to be there for me. I got to see these attributes from our first call and every day since....and I'm so glad I get to see them every day for the rest of my life!
I met Angie on the Facebook app, and her first message was, "How did you hear about Alan Jackson?" I think she never expected that from a guy from India. In that moment, I realized she was genuinely interested in getting to know me and breaking the ice with our shared interests.
As I got to know her more, I saw her deep love for Christ and her desire to please Him in everything she does. I had always wanted someone who loves the Lord and strives to honor Him. Angie’s bubbly and fun-loving nature, along with her compassion for those around her, made her truly unique (a woman after my own heart).
With each of our meetings, it became clear to me that I had found the ONE. She brightens my life, and her laughter and even just seeing her name on my phone brings a smile to my face.
