Paul and I met in May of 2018 on a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel. He stuck out to me because he was hot of course, but also because he was interested in my travel photos and was direct in asking me out with a specific location and time. He thought I was going to be stuck up given my blonde hair and job at Amazon. Goes to show, you can't read a book by their cover! Our first date was at Cactus restaurant on Alki Beach and sparks flew immediately.
This is the first photo we have together. Paul set up a date hike and chose Mt Si for the beautiful view from the top. The Seattle weather didn't cooperate. He didn't yet know that I had a weather curse put on me and whenever I travel, it is the 'coldest' or 'wettest' or 'foggiest' weather in years! Despite the view of the valley not working out, we enjoyed the view of each other from the top very much.

After our first date, our romance moved quickly. About a month in, Paul informed me that he wasn't dating anyone else and didn't want me to either. Which was fine with me, and again, I appreciated his direct, clear communication and maturity.
This is a photo from my 38th birthday where Paul got a taste for my love of adventure. We started the day at Beth's Cafe (the best muffins), then went on a hike to Wallace Falls, had Mexican food for lunch, hit up a Soul Cycle class, had dinner at Art of the Table and went out dancing after. He was a trooper and kept up which was a good sign for our future because I like to be on the move.

A month later, we were off on our first vacation together! You don't know if you are compatible until you travel.
We did a roadtrip through the Olympic National Forest stopping at Marymere Falls, the Hoh Forest, Forks (to get my Twilight fix which he obliged), Olympic Hot Springs and finished in Long Beach, WA. We were supposed to end up in Cannon Beach but ran out of time! Neither of us were bothered as we really just wanted to spend time with each other. We could have been anywhere!

Throughout our relationship, we continued to experience life together. Lots of date nights, dinners, movies and concerts. This is a photo from the Ben Harper concert at Chateau Ste Michelle Winery. Paul was always up for anything and I loved that.
September 08, 2018
We continued to travel the country and later the world. This is the first time I showed him my old hood in NYC.
September 15, 2018
We had a lot of adventure the first year that we were dating. We love amusement Parks and hit up Six Flags in New Jersey to ride Kingda Ka. After this, I surprised Paul with a Bruno Mars concert in Philly. It was on this trip that I discovered that Paul does NOT like surprises. But, the Bruno Mars concert was a good one.

One of the things I appreciated most was how easy our relationship is. We just fit together from how we raised our daughters to what we like to watch on Sunday to where we take the kids. Pumpkin patch is a must each fall. This is a photo from our very first pumpkin patch.
December 22, 2018
Our first Christmas together. We already knew it was forever.
January 12, 2019
Our first trip to Mexico! It was on this trip, that I learned that Paul must eat breakfast before he does ANYTHING.
January 17, 2019
We had an amazing week in the sun visiting Cancun (my old stomping grounds!) and magical Tulum. Eating amazing food under the twinkle lights in the jungle. It was on this trip that we started getting serious and talking about moving in together.

In the midst of Covid, Scarlett Soleil Wright was born and completed our family.
October 17, 2020
Three months to the day after Scarlett was born, we were married at Gold Creek Pond. You have to come to the celebration to hear the whole story of how that happened. :) What I will say, is that this day was magical. It poured rain the day before and the day after our wedding but on the day of, it was clear... like it was meant to be. Not even my weather curse could put a damper on our love. The only thing that was missing from this day is all of you.
October 31, 2020
Now that we were married, I could force Paul to dress up in family costumes for Halloween. This was Twilight - Jacob, Bella, Rosalie (whom our dog is named after), and Renesmee.
March 14, 2021
Bought Paul a new snowboard so we could start hitting the slopes.
October 10, 2021
We love fall. Football, the leaves change colors, HALLOWEEN and a good pumpkin. It's been really amazing creating traditions as a family and the pumpkin patch is definitely one that we look forward to every year. Well, me and the kids do. Paul says we could just go buy pumpkins at Safeway. But, isn't that love? Showing up even if you think its dumb to spend $50 on pumpkins that then just sit on our porch.
October 17, 2021
We spent our first wedding anniversary on the Big Island in Hawaii. It was amazing! This is a photo from one of only four green sand beaches in the world. We drove hours and then baha'd in the back of a truck to get to this paradise but it was so worth it. I hope to continue to be adventuring together for all of the anniversaries to come.

Halloween 2021 as Vampires!
November 21, 2021
We have a lot of things in common, and football is definitely one of those things. It's fun to enjoy Sundays on the couch watching the Seahawks and beating Paul in fantasy football. Go Hawks!
December 25, 2021

We traveled back to Tulum to relive the magic of our first trip.
June 12, 2022

December 18, 2022
Took the big girls to Disney World for Christmas. It was FREEZING. Coldest December they'd had in years. But, we still had a blast. This was the second time that Marley fainted on a rollercoaster.
February 11, 2023
Kauai for Valentine's Day. This trip Paul got his scuba certification so we could not only adventure on land but also beneath the sea together. When we first got together, Paul signed up for swim lessons because he knew how much I loved to be in the water and swim and then he took it a step further with scuba certification. This is just one of a million reasons I fell in love with him.
July 01, 2023
My birthday at the Post Hotel in Leavenworth, WA. This was the most relaxing vacation we'd had since having Scarlett and we really enjoyed the food, the spa and I thoroughly enjoyed beating Paul at mini golf.
August 25, 2023
Family vacation to Seabrook. WA. Adorable little town on the Washington Coast.
September 09, 2023
Back to Santa Cruz to celebrate D getting MARRIED!
October 31, 2023
Halloween 2023 as The Addams Family. We wanted Scarlett to go as cousin IT but in true Scarlett fashion, she could not be convinced. She went as Elsa and ruined our spooky vibes.
December 17, 2023
I had always dreamed of honeymooning in the Maldives or Tahiti. We booked a Tahiti cruise for right after our wedding but Covid was still rampant so the cruise was cancelled. After two more cancellations and three years later, we finally made it to our honeymoon and had a blast. The cruise, the service, the relaxation and the adventure. It was perfect!
December 25, 2023
Paul loves me enough to wear matching onesie family pajamas but he said this is the last time.
December 31, 2023
NYE at Canlis, the nicest restaurant in Seattle coming in hot with the pirate theme.
May 04, 2024
Traveled to Vegas for the Lovers and Friends festival only for it to be CANCELLED. I was devastated. But, Paul is very good at rolling with the punches. And, balances me very well. We went to the Prince cover band instead and honestly, it was probably just as good.
May 20, 2024
We traveled to California for my dear friend Ashley's memorial and took Scarlett to Disneyland for the first time. Isn't that life? The happy sad of it all.
June 30, 2024
Spent my birthday in the North Cascades National Park near Winthrop. This hike to a glacial lake was incredible. Even though Paul walks all week for work, he will still hike with me on his days off because he knows I love it. He is still thoughtful and wants to make me happy five years later. A good sign! We also took up pickle ball on this trip.
August 03, 2024
Every summer we go to Bonaparte Lake where my grandpa used to take his kids camping. It's these types of traditions and Paul's willingness to adopt them that make me love him all the more. Both of our daughters were baptized in that lake.
August 20, 2024
Our summer family vacation to Orcas Island where we had to wear parkas in August and there is never a kid far from someone's lap. This is married life!
October 27, 2024
We'll end this walk down memory lane here. We can't wait to celebrate our love with you next year on our five year wedding anniversary!
