Our Story

On their first date, Anica and Thomas realized that they were destined to be together because of these three reasons. 1. Anica's mom and Thomas' stepmom are both dental hygienists.&nbsp; Okay, admittedly, not that crazy of a coincidence. 2. Their favorite number is 26 because they were both born on the 26th of their respective months — Thomas in February (the second month of the year) and Anica in June (the sixth month of the year).&nbsp; Alright, that's a bit specific... but "destined to be together" because of their birthdays? I don't think so. But here's the kicker! 3. Thomas was supposed to be named Anica if he was born a girl. WOAH. Okay, that's definitely a sign. And Anica... well, she was supposed to be named Riley if she was born a boy (but let's ignore that detail).&nbsp; Call it fate, destiny, or just a hyper-fixation on random fun facts — but there were too many coincidences to go unnoticed. Anica and Thomas knew that they had to be in each others lives lest some sort of natural disaster was wrought down from the heavens in protest. But let's back up and tell the whole story of how it all began. The year was 2019 and Anica was entering her freshman year at Madison Area Technical College. In an attempt to force herself to be social and make at least one friend, Anica bought two tickets to a comedy show slated for November. That gave her two months to find someone to go with. Enter Thomas. Who immediately decided to get to know the girl in his Intro to Film class that shared his almost-name. The two exchanged contact info and began talking outside of class. Anica learned that Thomas biked to college from across town, and Thomas learned that Anica thought he was crazy for doing so. Not seeing any other red flags, Anica invited Thomas to attend the comedy show with her. They had dinner at Nat Speil, a korean-italian fusion restaurant near the capitol; sat near the stage at the comedy show in hopes that the comedian would pick on them (he didn't); and were served alcoholic raspberry daiquiris despite only being 18 years old. Overall, a 10/10 first date. The next five years were some of the best. Anica and Thomas both transferred to UW-Madison to complete their undergraduate degrees and moved in together their senior year. Thomas introduced Anica to the sport of cycling, and Anica became one of the crazy people biking across town just like Thomas. They supported each other in all endeavors between their education, sports, activities, and careers. They grew with each other and made each other into better versions of themselves. Most importantly, they loved each other more and more every day.&nbsp; Wanting to keep the good times going forever, Thomas proposed to Anica. And now here we are! We're getting married and you're invited to witness it and bust a move on the dance floor. It's going to be a good time! And if you don't want to celebrate us, you can at least commemorate the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. June 6, 2026. Potosi, WI. Be there.

What should I wear?We’re so excited to celebrate with you! Please wear something nice for the occasion. As much as we love casual, we ask that jeans, oversized sombreros, and fake mustaches be left at home for the day.

Will there be cell reception?Maybe! We'll be down in a valley surrounded by bluffs which means cell service might not be readily available depending on your carrier. But there should be wi-fi at our reception! Better yet, we invite you to throw your phone in the Mississippi River before the reception starts. Who needs technology!

When should I RSVP by?Please RSVP by Friday, May 1, 2026. If we don't hear back from you at that time, we'll assume you hate us and don't ever want to speak to us again. Haha just kidding. But seriously, RSVP by May 1.

Can I bring my kids?Sure, if they're listed on your RSVP. If not, feel free to have them come for the dancing portion starting at 7 p.m.

Can I bring my dog?Um... we kindly ask that you leave your dog at home. Unless it's a medical service dog, of course.

Can I bring my grandma?Why do you even want to bring...? You know what. Sure, fine, bring your grandma. I don't care. But I'm not feeding her.
