Anissa was working as a server at Wahlburgers in Downtown Orlando and went on a vacation to visit her family in East Chicago in June of 2017. Little did she know, Joe was being interviewed and hired while she was out of town.

Anissa returned to work after her trip and saw Joe talking to their manager upon arriving. She asked her coworkers who the new guy was and she was informed that he was the new manager. One of the bartenders noticed the exchange of glances between Anissa and Joe and said, "uh oh, Anissa is totally gonna fall for him!" Again, little did Anissa know...she was right. They were introduced and as the days went on, they got to know each other and built a friendship.

One day, Anissa was talking to Joe and a few servers about getting a puppy and Joe mentioned that his brother had just bought a puppy and could put her in contact with the breeder. Joe got Anissa's number that day. Soon he added her on social media but never sent the puppy breeder's information.

After about a month, they were both working the closing shift and had a rough night. After the dinner craze was over, the servers decided they'd all go out for drinks after work. Anissa remembered her General Manager asking her to help "integrate him" into the team so she decided to break the rules a bit and invited Joe to join them. Joe closed the restaurant and unfortunately missed the group hang. However, he texted Anissa to see if she was still out and wanted to meet for one last drink. Anissa agreed and met Joe who was waiting at Chillers, with two rum and cokes in hand. They talked all night and he drove her home, but not before stealing a kiss... or maybe two.

Anissa and Joe have been inseparable since.
